This week’s question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Lisa. You can find her on the web at www.yesicanwithaplan.com
Question:
I’m studying and applying the Laws of the Universe & Mind Science (it’s working!) As I get more clients, I feel a new set of fears come flooding in. I even wake up feeling depressed. I tell myself to breathe through it, let it go, it’s just the ego. But, I still feel its presence. It’s like watching a scary movie then feeling like someone/something is watching you. How do I QUICKLY rise above this?
Answer:
Great question, Lisa, and congratulations on your growth and success!
What you’re experiencing is what I call “New level, new devil”.
Many people have a common misunderstanding that once they hit a certain point in their business; everything suddenly becomes a bed of roses.
The truth is that every time you change, adapt and grow, you experience fear. It’s a natural part of the process. As an entrepreneur, you MUST get comfortable being uncomfortable.
So the MOST important thing to remember as you’re going through the terror barrier each time, is that whatever you focus on will grow.
If you give energy to the fear by trying to fight it or figure it out, you will manifest reasons to feel fearful. If you focus on the success, you will manifest opportunities to be successful.
Here’s your cheat sheet on coping with the fear.
When you feel yourself going to that dark place, instead of fighting it, which only gives energy to it, greet it like an old friend, and say, “Thanks fear, it’s nice to know you’ll always be there for me, but today I’m going to focus on something else (love, my successes, what I’m grateful for, etc).”
Pretty soon, the fear will take a back seat, and you’ll get so good at redirecting your thoughts, that the next time you feel the fear bubbling, all you have to do is think, “NEXT!”, and quickly move to a thought steeped in love or gratitude.
The key is to keep going and get comfortable being uncomfortable.

My lead coach, Steph Tuss, could arrange with you to schedule these 3 calls with me on an “as needed” basis … and that way the next 3 times you’re meeting a new devil, you and I could jump on a call and I’ll personally mentor you to quickly rise above.

Thanks David – for your response to Lisa, and for selecting her question! I’m grappling with a big stretch at the moment, which is exciting but at the same time fear-inducing!
Yesterday I had said to myself, “Amanda you need to be focusing on the exciting things ahead and the success you are creating rather than worrying about what can go wrong”.
Your suggestion to welcome the fear rather than fight it is crucial because what this does is it empowers the fearful side of you (eg. inner child) so that you can get back to center. I need to do a bit of inner child work – thanks for the reminder!
You are so welcome Amanda! I love that you mention empowerment and keeping you grounded. It really does get us in touch with that inner child and allows us to see beyond any situation. Learn to love the stretch – it’s growth and sometimes it can be messy! Thanks for the post.
Thanks David- I LOVE this! The phrase itself “New Level New Devil” is great and so accurately describes a nagging discomfort I’ve been feeling the past couple of days. It’s always so helpful to be able to identify on the spot what is actually going on and I love the approach of greeting the fear in a friendly way- I find this to be far more effective than pushing it away or brushing it aside since it seems to really grease the wheel for getting back into the gear of desire and clear intention. This has been a great reminder for me- so much thanks as always for your simple yet powerful wisdom
You’re welcome Angela! So what is it that is making you feel “nagging discomfort” in recent years? I’d love to hear more about it…sounds to me like an opportunity to grow. Are you resisting something? You should reach out to my lead coach Steph (steph@davidneagle.com) and see if there is any way myself and my team could be of service. All it takes is a decision…
Great points! I learned so much be accepting that fear (confusion, frustration, anger…) do come up in our lives – and fear can mean we’re moving into something new.
A really powerful and life changing technique I learned from Doreen Banaszak is to “Accept what I’m EXPERIENCING!” Realize that it’s what I’m experiencing and not WHO I AM! So, often I’ll say “I accept that I’m experiencing fear right now, and that’s OK” over and over – until I feel relief. Then I can say “I am willing to consider that life is unfolding exactly as it should and I’m grateful!”
Remember Kathy that fear is a lie, something we create in our own minds. If you experience a situation that you perceive as fear, take a step outside of it and know that it is not real. Many argue this point, and those are the ones who live in that place for much of their life and are too clouded to accept otherwise. Change-Adapt-Grow…it’s what we do to move forward! Thanks for the support Kathy as I appreciate it.
I would say, i am experiencing the same thing as Lisa. It’s not easy fighting with these unseen demons that try to keep you from getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. I love your trainings david and I listen to them often while sleeping.
God bless you for reaching out.
The key here Josephine is to not fight at all, since nothing good comes from that struggle. This is not supposed to be difficult, it is you who is making it so. Let go of that line of thinking and begin to see the results. It works! Here’s to all of us being comfortable with being uncomfortable; its a sure sign of growth. Appreciate the post Josephine!
Yes, it is true. I feel like I take a leap forward and 2 steps back sometimes. I know I am on the right path so I keep putting one foot in front of the other….just don’t stop….no matter what. Thank you David, you always help!!!!
Absolutely Karen! Always forward and never back. Thanks for the post!
