Trauma = Transformation

This week’s question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from an individual who wishes to remain anonymous.

Question:

Hi David. I know you’ve probably addressed this before, but I need some real help. Just before the holidays I experienced a traumatic and life-changing event. It leveled me. I’m not going to go into details, but let’s just say I will never be the same. My problem is that the after effects have left me sad, depressed, and feeling totally hopeless and afraid. I don’t know if I can move through it or how to even begin. Can you help get me moving in the right direction?

Answer:

First, let me just say that the key to you moving through this is to seek the truth.

Universal Truth states that we create EVERYTHING in our lives; all the “good” and all the “bad“.

When something happens in our lives that we feel on a deep emotional level, we tend to forget that we are playing a part in that sadness. We’ve created it in our life.

You may not be able to understand why, and it may be incredibly painful, but you created it.

This is a tough pill to swallow for most people. They want to take credit for all the great things in their lives, and then when something bad happens, they want to blame someone or something else.

The Laws don’t work half the time.

Truth is truth, and it is constant and consistent.

If you can step outside of that life changing event for just a moment, and ask yourself, what were the gifts in the experience, you will begin to see what I’m talking about.

When I got sucked through a hydroelectric dam, I could have focused on being a victim, blamed others and became bitter and angry because of all the pain, but the gift in that situation is that it completely changed my life. Had I not gone through that incredibly terrifying and excruciating experience, I wouldn’t be answering this question right now.

So if you can begin to take responsibility for that event, and know you were a willing partner in it, you can then begin to feel how powerful you really are.

You won’t be a victim anymore.

And when you can see the truth, it’ll set you free.

May this painful experience be a true catalyst to help you step into an even better you!

You’re welcome Kei. When you read what is written above what stands out the most to you? I’d love to hear back on that.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and body-based therapies are excellent for releasing the cellular memories of trauma.

Thanks for the suggestion Marian. Getting in touch with the pain and working through it, however one chooses to, goes a long way towards healing. I appreciate the post.

Thank you so much David….brought a lot of clarity to a situation that was on my mind lately. :-)

You’re very welcome Angela! Clarity is a great thing and is the window to even more if you allow it to work through you.

Wow, this one really touched me. As I read your article, David, I could see how with my near-death experience, from the very beginning I saw it as a gift. Yet only just in this moment did I see the same gift in a “traumatic” relationship experience that I had several years ago. And now seeing through the eyes of being a co-creator and partner in that experience, and looking back on all the dark “secrets” it helped me bring to conscious awareness and release, I can see that it was exactly like the near-death experience. A major wake-up call. Thanks for a beautiful article :)

Very true Erika. We must go through the experiences we create to gain what it is that we seek. Some call it a wake-up call, while others call it divine timing. Either way, embracing the dark side (no offense to the Star Wars saga) is what needs to happen in order for growth to take place. I appreciate you sharing here.

Great question and answer. I’d like to also add when I read it, the thought came to me that “good” or “bad” is always a matter of our perception, so by suggesting to the writer they “step outside of that life changing event” you gave them (and us) a tool for looking at it from a different perception. When we can do this, we can look for the gift as you did David in your story that you so graciously share with the world. Thanks!

Very good Sharon. We do place labels on these experiences, and remaining neutral and seeing them for what they are or are not is the best way to learn from them. This takes much practice, but once it is mastered situations seem to take on a new perspective each time they come up. Remembering that we create everything is a tough lesson to embrace…but it just is!

David, your blog posts always touch on whatever I am dealing with at the time. I went through a lot of trauma and drama, but teachings like your “7 Mindset and Manifesting Secrets of Multimillionaire Entrepreneurs” show me I don’t have to be a “survivor” or a “victim” of ANY circumstance.

Peace and blessings,
Stephanie
