I am stuck, stuck, STUCK!

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from an individual who wishes to remain anonymous.

Question:

David, I just can't get started. I have so many ideas floating around my head that I don't know where to begin. They sound exciting and then when I start to work on them, it just doesn't feel good enough or the market is so saturated it feels fruitless.

I'm struggling with my purpose, what I should do with my life. It's truly leaving me lost and depressed because I can't figure it out. I've read everything on finding your purpose, spent thousands of dollars trying to figure this out with all the “guru” books/events out there and alas, I'm still at square 1.

Any ideas?

Answer:

Great question, and one I know many entrepreneurs who want to start their own business struggle with.

There's a lot of chaos going on in your mind right now, so let's look to the truth and shine the light on some of those lies.

First, there is no such thing as a mistake. Everything you do, regardless of the results you experience, is bringing you closer to truth. All of those experiences force you to grow, and in the growth, you begin to discover who you are and what you want for your life.

Many entrepreneurs hesitate to get started on an idea because they are afraid of making a mistake. Actually they aren't afraid of the mistake itself, they are afraid of what other people will think about their decision and outcome.

So you must first DECIDE.

Choose ONE of your ideas. It doesn't really matter which one, just choose one that inspires you the most.

Then take ACTION on that decision. Don't worry about the results, don't fret about what people will think, and don't stop.

You see, Spirit won't give you your entire plan. You must take action on the first step before the 2nd step will be shown. If you never take action, you'll never see the next opportunity.

If you should fall flat on your first idea, be grateful for what you've learned from it, and continue to look for the next opportunity. It WILL be there.

You will either win or you will learn, in which case, either outcome is a GIFT.

  1. Thanks for articulating that question, Anonymous, and for the answer, David. I keep forgetting that analogy of life being like driving down a dark road and how just because you can only see 200 feet in front of you doesn’t mean you’re going to stop. To get where you need to go, you need to go-go-go!

    • Thanks for the comment Sheila, appreciate it! What are you doing currently in your business to go-go-go? I’d love to hear more…

  2. Hi David,
I feel just like the anonymous person. It is so hard for me to clarify my main vision. I give my all to everything that I do, however that one thing to give and bring in profit for me is not happening. I wonder at times if its something specific I should be doing, or am I doing all I should be doing?

    Thanks,

    • Thanks Janice. It sounds like you don’t know what you want; because if you did you’d be well on your way to receiving it. Forget clarifying your vision; what do you want? It’s a simple question, but not always arrived at in a simple manner. You can’t take a step forward until you make the effort to take that step forward. There is a block there, something you do not see. Send an email to my lead coach Steph ([email protected]) and see if you can get some quick help around this. The opportunity is there!

  3. Great reminder we sabotage ourselves into becoming paralyzed by thinking we have to know it all before acting. We think our purpose has to be specific, but I think it unfolds as we go along. Thank you David for the lesson that an unwanted outcome can be a lesson and further our unfolding…brilliant!

    • Thanks for the comment Sharon! I appreciate your support here and am so glad that this one struck a chord in you.

  4. Hi David,

What do you do when you have taken the first step but it is not working out? I started my own business but it is turning in to a bit of a nightmare. I know where I want to get to but I am struggling real bad and live in constant fear that I will never reach my potential.

How can I get around it?

    Thanks in advance.

    • First off Colin, what are you afraid of? Using terms like nightmare and fear will only bring more of the same your way. What you resist, persists. So, what are you resisting? Remember, this is not supposed to be difficult. I’d start by changing your thinking and the words you use to describe your current situation. The chance for success is inside of you, but you yourself have to believe it to achieve it. Appreciate the post and would like to get an update on your progress.
