Stuck in Indecision

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

In my business, I’ve been working on creating a digital course. But I’m having trouble making decisions on how to actually set it up and market it.

There are many pieces to my course, and there are multiple ways I can go about setting these up. I’m having trouble narrowing it down. I ask myself, “What’s the best way to do this?” And I get stuck in the ‘how.’

I can easily decide between two options just fine. But if there are several options to choose from, I stop. It makes me freeze. I stop because I’m not sure how to do something. I start overthinking it.

How do I not stop when it comes to making decisions?

Neagle Code Answer

In some of these situations, it’d probably be best if you reached out to someone to ask them for their expertise, and what’s the best way to do it.

If it’s something you already know and you’re trying to choose — and you’re just getting stuck in the indecision — your brain is searching for something. It’s usually searching for some kind of certainty.

If we’re considering two options, we know the “facts” about those two things, but we don’t really know anything beyond that.

So, we just have to pick one.

Pick one thing, do it, then see what the results are. If you don’t like the results, you can change it.

If you stay in indecision, all this does is allow your imagination to start running down rabbit holes and creating scenarios that are both good and bad… none of which are necessarily true.

You have to pick something.

But you also have to be careful, because in the cases where you don’t know about what you’re doing — or what’s the best thing that needs to be done — if there’s an expert who does know, you need to reach out and ask for their help.

If I’ve wanted this goal for so long, then why hasn’t it happened yet?

David,

When people ask me what I want, I find myself stumbling with the answer to that question as if I might answer it wrong. However, I do know a few things… I know I want a bigger home. I know I want to be debt free. I know I want to travel and give my kids some amazing experiences, but I can’t seem to bring in the money I think I need to have and do all those things. So, part of me wonders why, if I’ve wanted these things for so long, haven’t they happened yet. Can you help me understand what’s going on here?

Neagle Code Answer

Sure! Let’s do a quick check in three different areas that affect your ability to manifest what you want.

Any time that you’re choosing something that you want in life, whether you are writing affirmations, a mission statement, creating a vision board, setting goals or intentions, you need to get a very clear idea of what it is that you want, and write it down in the present tense, as though you already have it.

For example, “I want to buy a beautiful house in the country” becomes “I am buying a beautiful house in the country.

Once your thought is clear, you need to make sure that your emotions are as well.

Look at your written goal or desire and ask yourself, “Do I believe that I can get or have that thing I want?

If your desire is more of a fairytale that you would love to have, but don’t really believe you’re going to get, you need to throw that paper away and start again with, “What do I really believe I can get?

If you don’t believe you can have what you want, Spirit doesn’t believe it either.

And since Spirit works deductively, it can only send back to you in manifest form what you actually believe.

And finally, look at the goal you wrote down and ask yourself: “Is this just something that I think I can accomplish, or is it something that I really want? Does it stir my soul and inspire me?

When I first started doing goal setting for myself, I made the mistake that most people do. I started picking things that I thought I could accomplish, which was really based out of past experience and not what I really wanted in my heart, not something that excited me or gave me any kind of vision for my future.

Therefore nothing changed. The energy behind the picture was of the past, so nothing changed.

As you can see, there’s a very delicate balance that must take place in order for you to work what most people would consider miracles into your life.

Your desire can’t be too much in your past, and it can’t be too far into your future either. It needs to help you grow while remaining within your belief system.

If you’ve done any sales conversations at all, you know that the number-one objection that prospects present as a reason not to buy your product or service is money.

You get to that point in the sales conversation, and they say, “I don’t have the money,” “Our funds are allocated elsewhere,” or “We’ve got medical bills or tuition or too much debt.”

No matter how they phrase it, the solution for banishing that problem forever from your sales process is the same.

Don’t Buy Into Their Lie
The first key to dealing with any kind of objection that prospects present is to discern the real ones from the excuses.

The real objections are challenges, so you deal with them as such. Excuses are lies or beliefs in a false reality.

“I don’t have the money” is a lie.

How do you deal with this lie?

Well, first, you have to apply Pillar 1 and influence yourself.

You have to accept that money is never the problem. The problem is always urgency.

For instance, imagine a homeless drug addict, somebody who is really down and out. That person is a lost soul, trapped inside a reality that the addiction has created.

Have you ever heard of addicts who can’t get the money to buy their next fix?

No, because they always find a way.

Now, don’t get into the judgment of how they do it. That doesn’t matter. The point is that they do. And that homeless addict’s reality is much more dire than any prospect’s you’re going to be talking to.

They come up with the money, because the urgency is so great. They’ll do anything to get the money for their next fix.

So, when prospects tell you that they don’t have the money, remember that drug addict, and don’t buy into that excuse.

Instead, work on your prospects’ sense of urgency, because the urgency isn’t great enough for them to do what they need to do to get the money.

Whether that’s negotiating with their spouse to reallocate savings or getting a loan or raising their rates.

If you deal with their objection from a money place, you’re dealing with it from their reality.

And you will never influence them from their reality, because their reality says that they can’t get out of that reality.

So how do you influence them?

Remember Clarity?
You bring them clarity, which, in turn, will create urgency.

So when you encounter the money objection, ask your prospects this question:

“What’s going to happen if this problem doesn’t change?” and have them see what the exact outcome will be.

Whether that’s facing the health consequences of diabetes, or poverty as an elder, or the loneliness of remaining single if they don’t want to.

Remember, part of the problem is that they’ve pushed this negative scenario into some nebulous future, where they don’t have to deal with it.

By bringing it to the present, they will face it.

And that clarity will bring them the urgency to change the outcome.

They’ll realize that they don’t want to tolerate their problem one minute longer, and, all of a sudden, they’ll find a way to get the money for the solution they need.

And, if they really are your ideal client, the solution they need is yours.

I love your message and your work! My question is around finding the right clients.

I go to networking meetings and I market myself on line, but there is something wrong…I can’t seem to find the right people to talk to about my services. I’m not sure if it’s my branding, my message or how I introduce myself. Is there a “rule of thumb” to help me get clear on what may be “off”?

Thank you for your great question!

I love this question because it is an opportunity for you to really look at what you offer and define that one specific person that can use your product or service. When you define that person it becomes easier to find that individual.

The first thing to understand is that clarity is key.

The clearer you are on who it is that you are looking for (your target market), the easier it is to put the puzzle pieces together (where to go to meet these people, networking, marketing) so that you can actually find them.

When I say clarity here, I mean clarity like a whistle only a dog can hear. It is remarkable how that kind of clarity will totally attract that person when you couldn't see them before.

The first question you have to ask yourself is:

What are the explicit facts about my target market?

Are they male or female? Age? Are they married? Divorced? Do they have children? Where do they live? What kind of car do they drive? What is their favorite TV show? Do they exercise? What are their hobbies? What is the biggest purchase they have made? What do they want to change in their life right now?

Answer this from the place of the ONE potential client you can help the MOST.

The next question you have to ask yourself is :

What are the implicit nuances about this person?

What does she think and feel? What does she see, hear, say out loud and do in her day-to-day life? What is most painful to her? What is her biggest win? What is her buying mentality towards your product or service?

You need to be able to determine the readiness and willingness of this person to actually buy what you are selling at the level that you are asking.

I encourage you to do these exercises. By doing them, you will begin to have clarity and you will become like the whistle only dogs can hear.

You will not only find the right clients but the clients whom you love to work with!

Blaming your competition?!?

Question:

How can I break out of the pattern of being the best kept secret when it comes to my business? I fall back with the thought that so many people do what I do. How am I different, etc

Answer:

I’m going to cut right to the chase with this one…

The truth is that there is no such thing as competition.

There is only one YOU. There may be 5,000 different people who teach what you teach, sell what you sell, or provide what you provide, but there is only one Judy Katz! You bring your gift to the world through you, and there isn’t another you and so there cannot be competition!

AND

You’re using this excuse to stay hidden and small.

So the real question to answer would be; what are you afraid of that’s keeping you the best kept secret when it comes to your business?

I know that Spirit wants more for you than you want for yourself. Your purpose on this planet is NOT to stay hidden.

So, my question to you is…how is it serving you to stay small? Now, before you react, take a moment and really think about it.

What would happen if you really stepped into your purpose and became the huge success you know you would be?

Would it mean that your relationship with your friends or family would change?

Would it mean that you’d need to let go of something that you weren’t so sure you could let go of?

Would it mean that others may judge you?

You’re staying small for a reason, and it’s been a choice of yours to do so. The key to getting out of your own way is to become aware of what you are resisting. What are you not willing to do that’s keeping you stuck?

You also have to understand that if you continue to stay small, you are doing a disservice to those people who are looking for your help. Remember, if you have the desire, the way to fulfill it is waiting for you.

It just starts with a decision to get very honest with yourself about why you are choosing to stay hidden and then begin to walk right through those fears.

Once you become aware of your fears, you must bring the truth to it and TAKE ACTION!

Each day when you wake up, write down the 6 most important things that to be done that day to bring you closer to the goal.

Practice this every day.

It will take discipline, but it’s the most important habit you can develop as it will have a DIRECT impact on the success of your business.

Busting your a** & all for what?

I own an online retail clothing company, have a desire to grow my home-based internet marketing business and even work a part time job in timeshare sales (I know I’m exhausted just writing it). I am in a relationship as well that has taken its beating due to all my career aspirations. I am feeling so limited on the energy I can direct to all areas simultaneously and therefore, one or more areas ends up suffering depending on where I am directing my focus and energy at that period of time. Do you feel it is possible to give so much desire and positive energy to several different things that I really want to manifest in my life or do we only have so much energy to give and should we focus it to maximize desired results?

Answer:

Hi Joanie and thanks for your question.

I think it’s first important to get an understanding of WHY you want to be doing all of these things.

What’s your motivation behind growing your retail clothing company, your home-based marketing business and selling timeshares?

Are you doing all of these things because you truly love them all?

Or are your motivations due to something else?

I have a hard time believing that you’re equally passionate about all three. So get really clear and honest about why you’re doing what you’re doing.

Ask yourself if you’re taking part in these businesses because you really love them or because you feel you SHOULD, you need the money, or you hope others appreciate you for your HARD WORK.

Do you have a belief that you can’t do what you love AND make money?

Are you creating distraction and chaos to keep yourself small?

You see, what you’re doing right now is chasing bunnies. You will get your best results when you can focus on ONE business and give all your energy to it.

Once you get clear on that, choose the one business you’re most passionate and inspired about and then give it your ALL. Burn the ships and don’t let anything stop you or stand in your way of achieving your goals.

The truth is that once you have a deep emotional desire for something and then EXPECT that desire to manifest, the Universe will respond. Emotion puts everything in motion, and if you’re not passionate about your business, you most likely won’t get the results you’re hoping for.

My assignment to you is to really get clear on WHY you’re splitting your energy between 3 unrelated businesses. This will allow you to see what needs to change more clearly.

Nothing is working. What am I doing wrong?!

Question:

Hi David. HELP! I know something isn’t working in my business. I feel like I’m doing everything I can, and nothing is happening. I’m not aware of a mindset block or any fears, and frustration is setting in. How can I part the fog and see what’s going on?

Answer:

Great question but difficult to answer as I don’t know what your unique situation is.

So, let’s dig a little deeper here, and bring in the TRUTH …

TRUTH: We manifest everything in our lives. (Meaning: we are responsible for everything that “happens” in our lives.) From the spectacular, to the unfortunate, to the inconsequential.

So what you are experiencing is something you’ve created because it serves you in some way.

(The beauty about taking 100% responsibility for painting the full picture of your situation, is that by taking responsibility you’re no longer a victim to your situation, but instead have the power to change it in one or in all ways!)

Plus, know this: If you’re not receiving the results you desire, you’re likely creating through the filter of multiple subconscious toxic patterns that are working against your best efforts to CHANGE. And, I accept entirely that you may be completely unaware of the patterns, or of the toxicity, or both.

So, let me ask you some questions, and please sit with them and answer them honestly …

1. Is it possible that you’re playing small so as to not draw attention to yourself, or to “out shine” your friends or family?

2. Are you disorganized, creating distraction, or finding yourself reacting to your day rather than having a plan for your day?

3. Are you hiding bills or investments from your spouse or partner, especially money you are investing for the growth of your business because you’re afraid of rocking the boat?

4. Do you get sucked into negative family paradigms and feel yourself being pulled down?

5. Are you building this business because you’re 100% passionate about making profit doing what you love, or do you care more about serving & assisting others?

6. Do you avoid asking people to pay you, because it feels uncomfortable or wrong?

7. Do you believe that your loved ones support you 110% in your ability to succeed, or do you worry that sooner or later you’ll let them down, or that they’ll become angry with you?

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, you have adopted toxic patterns that only serve to keep you exactly where you are.

The tough part about toxic patterns is that they are very hard to see for yourself. They may be habits that you’ve justified for years, and even created entire stories around. Most times, to release a toxic pattern you have to face something you’ve been trying to avoid for a long time … like being seen, being vulnerable, being a change agent, being the center of attention, or just simply being yourself.

It’s tough … and you’ll very likely need help & support to recognize which specific toxic patterns you’re repeating. But doing THIS WORK pays off in joy, abundance, peace, prosperity & freedom in spades!

Is my marriage holding me back?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from an individual who wishes to remain anonymous.

Question:

How does a marital relationship affect our ability to manifest our dreams? How do you know if a marriage that ‘appears' to be OK for all intents and purposes, is actually holding you down? How do you know if this is the right person for you, and that you have an environment to realize your fullest potential?

Answer:

You’re probably not going to like what I’m going to write here, but if you’re asking the question, you already know the answer.

If you find yourself making decisions or stopping yourself for fear of what your spouse or partner will think or say, then you really need to take a close look at that relationship.

And I think it’s important for you to understand that no one can hold you down, unless you allow yourself to be held down.

In a healthy relationship, both partners should have the room and freedom that they need to foster their own growth. You have a responsibility to yourself to pursue your dreams, and if your partner doesn’t agree; they have the option to leave.

As Vernon Howard so eloquently states, “Behave the way you really are, even if it ends a relationship. Never suppress yourself in an effort to influence, hold, or win someone. When we are unreal, so are our rewards. To say this in another way, never behave the way you think the other person wants you to behave, but in the manner you must. Nothing you really need to do or have ever requires a yielding to a person or custom.”

So to answer your question…

Chances are, if you’re wondering if a person is right for you, something has given you the thought that they may not be.

Your marital relationship will only affect your ability to manifest if you’re not true to yourself.

Take a look at how you make decisions.

Do you hold information from your spouse because of how they may react or what they may think?

Do you tip toe around them? Or find yourself constantly needing to defend your beliefs?

Take a good, long and honest look. The answer will be obvious, although it may not be easy.

Is your glass half full?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from an individual who wishes to remain anonymous.

Question:

When your world is falling apart and you do not have the money or access to money to get help from ‘a coach' how do you keep pushing for the breakthrough?

Answer:

Fantastic question!

First, let’s get some perspective. Your world is never REALLY falling apart. I know at times it may seem like it, but take comfort in knowing that you create your own reality. Instead of looking at your situation as negative, try to identify how it serves you for it to be happening.

Do you need to let go of something you should have let of a long time ago?

Are you experiencing changes in your life that will eventually lead to a better and more free “you”?

OR

Are you resisting doing something that is causing the breakdown?

Second, you have the same amount of money as everyone else on this planet. Spirit didn’t wake up one day and establish a pecking order for who should get money and who shouldn’t. Everyone has the same amount of potential, the same amount of opportunity, and the same amount of money, if they are willing to do what it takes to become aware of it.

You must change your thinking immediately. You must flip the coin, and look at all the possibilities instead of all the IMpossibilities.

Sit down with a pen and a piece of paper right now.

Seriously.

Stop reading this and get a piece of paper and pen.

At the top of your piece of paper write “My Universal Bank Account”.

Now number the left hand side from 1 to 30.

Put your pen in front of #1 and write down one way for you to bring money into your awareness. Allow your mind to open, to dream, to fantasize.

Have fun with this, and above all DO NOT CENSOR your ideas.

Continue with the list.

Who can you ask?

What can you sell?

What can you do?

Who can you be?

You’ll be amazed what pops into your head. You MUST NOT STOP until you have all 30 on your list. Usually the best ideas come at numbers 26-30.

Once you have your list, take action. Spirit has just shown you through your own hand where the money you need is located. Now you MUST take action. And it’s in taking action that the next opportunity will be shown to you.

Here’s the truth. If you desire something, it has to be already here. If you desire to hire a coach, the money must be here. IT MUST BE!!

The problem is usually that most are not willing to do what they need to do to become aware that what they desire is right in front of them.

And finally, please don’t push for a breakthrough. Breakthroughs don’t happen by sitting at home and willing for them to happen.

Breakthroughs happen in the midst of an experience.

That’s right, you must EXPERIENCE a breakthrough.

And I have a sneaking suspicion that if you complete your list and begin taking action, you’ll get the breakthrough you’re looking for…

Step One: Decide How Much Money You Want

Master the Cash Injection: Step One

Last time, I started sharing with you a formula for bringing in any amount of money you choose.

I told you that before employing the formula, you must put some faith in the Law of Polarity; that is, you have to be willing to believe that what you want already exists around you.

Today, we’re moving on to step one of the equation.

Step One: Decide How Much Money You Want

Deciding how much money you want sounds simple, but there are several imperative aspects to that decision.

1. First, think about how much money would make a significant difference in your life right now.

2. That amount of money must be real to you. It has to be an amount that you can actually see yourself receiving. (I’ll say more about this later.)

3. Your figure must be exact, down to the penny. That way you can measure what you’re doing and the amount of money that’s coming in.

4. Know why you want that amount of money. Is it for a down payment? A medical bill? Your child’s tuition? If you choose an income goal, for instance, you want to make an additional $20,000 this year, know what you would do with the extra income.

Don’t Rewrite the Equation

Whenever I share this formula, right away some people start skipping the steps. They don’t want to do something because it’s uncomfortable, or they don’t find it inspiring.

If you leave out one of the principles, either in mindset or the practical things you have to do, the process won’t work.

So, follow the formula as I lay it out for you, step by step.

Start Where You Actually Are

I tell my MasterMind members that they have to know two things in order to succeed: they have to know where they are and where they’re going. The most important thing is to know where you are.>

If you can only see yourself receiving $1,000, so be it. That’s where you are. As you’ll find in the following story, the figure you start with is only the beginning.

When my mentor, Bob Proctor, met his wife Linda two decades ago, she was making about $29,000 a year.

She asked him, “Do you really believe that I can increase my income?”

He replied, “What’s the most you’ve ever made?”

When she said it was $29,000, he asked, “Can you see yourself making $100,000?”

She thought for a moment, and then said, honestly, “I really can’t see myself making $100,000.”

Bob backed the number down to $50,000, something she said she could believe in, and that figure became her goal.

Had they started with $100,000, the result I’m about to share with you would never have come to be because Linda couldn’t believe that it was possible for her to receive that much money.

If you choose a figure that’s too high for you to believe in, you send a message of disbelief out into the universe.

That disbelief then controls your perception to see all the things you don’t believe. For instance, you’ll see all the reasons why you can’t get the money. You’ll think the money is not really there, this process doesn’t work or, “Dave is full of baloney.”

When Bob started Linda at $50,000, she could actually see the money in her mind’s eye.

And that same year, she made $499,000.

Why did she make nearly 10 times her target?

Once she started to approach $50,000, her belief that she couldn’t make a lot of money completely shattered, as though it had never existed. Also, her success inspired her to continue expanding.

Believe in Your Number

Like Linda, be honest about where you are.

Believe in your number, love your number, however small it may seem.

Because if you start where you actually are, there is no limit to how far you can go.
