Do I have a Dark Side?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Brian O.

Neagle Code Question

David… I’ve heard you mention the “Dark Side” MANY times over the last couple of months and I’m paying attention, but I still have confusion about what a “Dark Side” really is. Every time I hear it, I think it must be a bad side or an evil side of myself. Can you clarify please?

Neagle Code Answer

I’d be happy to explain!!

Human beings have a tremendous amount of creative power that can be consciously used in their life to create any life that they desire.

If we start with that frame and then think to ourselves, how many people don't create the life they desire, the question then becomes, “Why don't they?”

Where did this power go and how did they become so impotent in their own life that they can't actually create the life that they desire?

It actually is a power that gets suppressed by ideas that conflict with the higher side of ourselves.

Let me explain… the higher side of the human personality, or who we are at our core, is something that is tapped into Universal truth.

And what truth really does is allows us to live prosperously. It allows us to remove pain and suffering from our life to a great extent. It allows us to surround ourselves with magnificent people and magnificent situations and opportunities to really not only explore, but experience the grandeur of life and be a benefit to other people as well.

But when we are growing up and we're taught to suppress the true essence of who we are, it starts to form what we call The Dark Side. So, the Dark Side is like a mixing bowl in front of you. In it there is a combination of:

  • your greatest assets and power,
  • parts of you that you were told that were wrong,
  • parts of you that you were shamed about,
  • parts of you that you carry guilt about,
  • and tremendous secrets that we carry in life,

And unfortunately, most people don't think that they can let the dark side of themselves out because what will evidently happen is that people will reject them.

In essence, our Dark Side is the powerful TRUE side of ourselves that we were shamed for, ridiculed for, or made wrong for… and so we hid those pieces of ourselves in the dark and gave our greatest power away to someone else.

I’d love to shed light on YOUR Dark Side and help you tap into its power, which is why I’m hosting a FREE 60-minute training this week that I’ve titled, Tap Into The Power of Your Dark Side. CLICK HERE for the details!

How to rise up when present conditions are negative

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Heather B.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

Wattles tells us: “Use your present job or business to go to the one you like … act on your present environment to go to a better one.” But suppose someone is completely unemployed? What does he do? Suppose he was raised in a terrible neighborhood steeped in poverty and without opportunities? How does he act on it to get to a better environment?

Neagle Code Answer

Hi Heather, and thanks for your question!

What Wattles writes is absolutely true. He’s really referring to being your best in ANY situation, which then leads to an awareness of how your situation can change.

I think the main thing I am picking up from your question, is that somewhere “he” is looking at “his” current situation as a victim looks at a situation.

The truth is, no one is forced to do anything, and the “he” you are speaking of is the cause of creating the situation to begin with.

If a person feels they are forced to live in horrible conditions due to lack of money, it means that they are being a victim of their own life.

Spirit doesn’t give one person unlimited potential and then cap the potential of the guy sitting next to him.

When Wattles teaches to act on the present environment, he is teaching that we need to change who WE are or how WE are thinking so that we can see that we have a different choice that will lead us up and out.

A victim will only see what keeps him being a victim.

Instead of being a victim, one needs to be empowered. Instead of focusing on the negative, we must ask ourselves different questions.

Instead of feeling forced to live in substandard conditions, one must seek out the way to bring in the money, even if it’s to begin in a minimum wage job.

Each step and decision will lead to a new and better opportunity only if the person truly wants to change.

Step through the feeling of fear to truly grow

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Stephanie.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David, I just read your answer to a question about “pushing away” negative thoughts and I have a follow-up question for you. Sometimes when we have a negative feeling like fear, the solution is simply to change focus to the positive. Other times, focusing on the positive can be an escape from having to face a fear and deal with it.

How can I tell whether to turn away from a negative thought/feeling, or to face it?

Neagle Code Answer

Hi Stephanie!

What a great question.

Turning your back on the fear simply means to not let it control what you’re thinking or doing.

I think it may be helpful to use an example.

Let’s say Beth wants to build a business, and to build that business, she knows she needs to make sales.

However, sales is something Beth is very much afraid of, as she’s very concerned about what people may think of her. The thought of making someone angry or feeling “salesy”, causes Beth to have a really hard time engaging in sales conversations both in person and on the phone, which in turn is negatively affecting her ability to make money.

Beth needs to recognize that the fear is a lie, turn her back on it, not allow it to control her and pick up the phone or make the contact regardless of the fear.

She should only focus on the positive outcomes she wants, not on worrying about angering someone or what they may think of her.

Focusing on the positive doesn’t mean she’s not “dealing” with something she needs to deal with; she’s stepping right through what’s causing her to feel the fear. And as soon as she does that, the fear loses its power.

You see fear rears its head when you’re on the cusp of growth. Never turn away from that growth because of the fear. Instead, turn your back on the fear, tell it to get behind you and keep going!

Never deal with the fear itself…deal with what’s causing the fear.
