I didn’t know how either

I Didn't Know How Either

When I started my company over 17 years ago, I came to a crossroads.

I had to choose between staying at my corporate job (where I worked for a direct fuel distributor) โ€” or walking away, so that I could step into something related to my dream (my lifeโ€™s purpose).

I didnโ€™t know what my dream or purpose was, exactly.

All I knew was that if I stayed in my job, I would never be able to live my dream.

Today people always ask me, โ€œDavid, how do I do this? Hereโ€™s what I want. But I get stuck in the how.โ€

Well, I was stuck in the same place. I had no idea โ€œhowโ€ to do what Iโ€™m doing today. I had to learn all of that along the way.

But I couldnโ€™t learn any of it without first coming to that crossroads โ€” and then having the faith to make a right turn instead of a left turn.

โ€œLeft turnโ€ was staying in a place that was comfortable.

โ€œRight turnโ€ meant stepping out in faith towards my dreamโ€ฆ and making the decision that I would let Spirit (or God) lead my life.

I had to trust that the opportunity would show up, and it would guide me to where I am now.

To the average person, thatโ€™s crazyโ€ฆ quitting your job to follow a dream.

I was married, had four kids, a mortgage, car payments, the whole thing. I had everything we call โ€œthe American Dream.โ€

I was going to risk it all to follow what some people would think is a crazy dream that had no basis in reality.

Iโ€™d never done it before. Nobody I knew had ever done it before, and nobody even knew how to do it.

How do you make a decision that seems absolutely nuts in most peopleโ€™s minds?

It required that I gain more than an ordinary knowledge of FAITH.

Faith would allow me to step out and embrace my dreamโ€ฆ and do it while knowing EVERYTHING that was required for me to succeed, would show up.

Thatโ€™s exactly how I did it. I totally stepped into that road.

I studied faith and applied it to my life. This allowed me to overcome a massive amount of fear.

On this day before Thanksgiving, I urge all of you to take a few moments and remember those times in your life where you stepped outside of the box, did something no one thought you could do, or really followed what your inner voice was telling you to be, do or have.

Be grateful for your own courage and faith and all the people and resources that supported youโ€ฆ and remind yourself that you CAN do GREAT things through the power of decision, faith and action!

A Fork in the Road

A Fork in the Road

Nothing happens in the universe by chance.

Thereโ€™s a purpose for every single thing you experience in your lifeโ€ฆ whether youโ€™re aware of it or not.

In a very real sense, weโ€™re constantly coming to a โ€œcrossroadsโ€ with each opportunity we experience.

At any moment, you are faced with a choice: stay where you areโ€ฆ or do something to change your experience.

Each time weโ€™re faced with a decisionโ€ฆ weโ€™re also being called to step into โ€œfaith.โ€

We either have faith in moving in the direction we want to go inโ€ฆ

Or we have faith in the fear thatโ€™s holding us back.

If we have faith in the fear, then we stay stuck. We stay right where we are.

Think about a decision youโ€™re trying to make in your life. What is that decision?

Whatever it isโ€ฆ faith is coming in at this specific time, for a very specific reason in your life.

You cannot break through the fear thatโ€™s stopping you without the power of faith.

Faith allows you to keep moving forward, even though fear is present in your life.

Iโ€™m not talking about an ordinary faithโ€ฆ but a faith with deep understanding.

Thatโ€™s really the key to freedom.

I find that as a person begins to understand the truth behind everything theyโ€™re experiencingโ€ฆ their life starts to change in that moment.

As you read this now, youโ€™re at a crossroads in your life. Youโ€™ve been given the gift of making a conscious choice.

(A conscious choice happens when youโ€™re aware that youโ€™re choosingโ€ฆ and youโ€™re not just choosing based out of a reaction.)

People are always making choicesโ€ฆ but theyโ€™re often choosing between two things they donโ€™t want.

Theyโ€™re not thinking to themselves, โ€œIf I could do ANYTHING, have anything, and be anything โ€” then THIS is the direction I would take.โ€

What choice is in front of you right now?

Are you going to stay the same or are you going to make a choice to step into your purpose?

Choose wisely.

How to Move Past Fear and Procrastination

How to Move Past Fear and Procrastination

HI! David hereโ€ฆ

Have you ever felt the devastating power of fear and anxiety in your own life?

(If the word โ€œfearโ€ doesnโ€™t resonate with you, you can replace it with โ€œprocrastinationโ€ or โ€œcomplacency.โ€)

Think about something you want to do. Whatever it is, youโ€™ve probably wanted to do it for a long time.

But fear (or procrastination) stops youโ€ฆ

It keeps you bound to a limited life you donโ€™t deserve.

It keeps you totally stuckโ€ฆ as if youโ€™re paralyzed.
You want to move forward, but you canโ€™t move at all.

The fear (or procrastination) causes you to not take consistent, confident action towards everything that you want to achieve.

Have you ever experienced that?

If so, then you probably have faith in the wrong things. Your faith is being misdirectedโ€ฆ like lightning that is not being properly channeled.

Right now, you have more faith in the FEAR (or anxiety or procrastination) than you do in your vision for what you want.

You seeโ€ฆ everybody already has some measure of faith.

We all use โ€œfaithโ€ every single day. (We couldnโ€™t get through life without it.)

It takes a measure of faith for you to cross the street.

It takes faith for you to write a check or charge a purchase to your credit card (youโ€™re trusting that the money, or the credit will be there).

It takes faith for you to go out on a date with someone, or get married. (You donโ€™t know what will happen. Youโ€™re trusting that something good will happen.)

No matter what you do in life โ€” take a new job, start a business, or create something โ€” youโ€™re using a certain measure of faith.

You donโ€™t know how the action will turn out, but on some level youโ€™re trusting that it will work.

Thatโ€™s faith.

Hereโ€™s the problem:

Most of the โ€œfaithโ€ we have is based on the โ€œknowledgeโ€ weโ€™ve been stockpiling our whole life. That knowledge comes from all the experiences weโ€™ve had up until now.

All of that has created a certain level of faith that youโ€™ve been following on a regular basis.

If you want to get to a place where fear, anxiety, and procrastination no longer control your thinking, actions, and resultsโ€ฆ then youโ€™ve got to build a new kind of faith, one based on deep understanding of universal truths.

So, tell me, what do you have faith in?

Without faith there is no vision

Without faith there is no vision

Often when I teach, I refer to writings from different authors and religions that Iโ€™ve studied over the years.

Whenever I do that, I always ask that if Iโ€™m quoting something thatโ€™s not based on your particular religion โ€” or which doesnโ€™t reflect your understanding of God โ€” then I encourage you to replace whatever terminology Iโ€™m using with words youโ€™re comfortable with.

For example, if I say the word โ€œGodโ€ and you donโ€™t like that termโ€ฆreplace it with โ€œspirit,โ€ โ€œuniverse,โ€ โ€œenergy,โ€ โ€œthe divine,โ€ or whatever word you prefer.

The idea is not for us get blocked or hung up over a particular wordโ€ฆbecause that prevents us from understanding the deep truth of something.

Instead we need to figure out a way to allow ourselves to hear the higher truth of something โ€” even if the words arenโ€™t what we prefer.

It doesnโ€™t matter to me what religion a person practices, or doesnโ€™t practice.

My intention is to teach people to use universal truths in order to make their life exactly how they want it to be, and to help them fulfill their purpose.

Having said thatโ€ฆhereโ€™s a quote I want to share from Proverbs 29:18:

โ€Where there is no vision, the people will perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.โ€

โ€œVisionโ€ means an image you hold in your mind of something you want to create or experience.

โ€œThe lawโ€ means โ€œuniversal truths.โ€ (Some people refer to this as โ€œGodโ€™s lawโ€ or โ€œGodโ€™s word.โ€ Again, use whatever terminology youโ€™re comfortable with.)

Without faith (in the laws or universal truths or โ€œGodโ€™s wordโ€), you cannot have future visions for yourself.

Without faith, youโ€™ll only have the same vision youโ€™ve previously had (usually a vision that was given to you by someone else)โ€ฆand which youโ€™ve been following all your life.

When you create a new vision for yourself, you must have faith in itโ€ฆor it wonโ€™t come to fruition.

Faith gives you a vision beyond what youโ€™re currently experiencing.

It lets you believe in something that doesnโ€™t exist yet (i.e, the vision or goal).

In order to go from where you are nowโ€ฆto somewhere thatโ€™s absolutely extraordinaryโ€ฆyouโ€™ll have to overcome any fear that goes along with that (including any procrastination or complacency).

This requires a different kind of faith โ€” a faith based in deep understanding of universal truths.

Without faith, success is impossible.

The Key to A Rock Solid Mindset

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Anna P.

Neagle Code Question

How do you create a rock solid mindset?

Neagle Code Answer

Hi, and thanks for the question!

There are two key factors in creating an unshakeable mindset.

One is understanding, and the other is experience.

Allow me to explain.

I am an avid student. One of the really great things my mentor taught me a long time ago was how to study, and to this day, I never travel anywhere without my books.

I am constantly holding my thoughts up to the light of the truth that is found in those books.

In this way, I can consciously understand whatโ€™s happening around me.

This is step one of a solid mindset.

Study.

The second step is to give yourself a different experience, because you see, experience creates understanding deep in your subconscious.

If you donโ€™t give yourself a different experience, your new understanding doesnโ€™t become part of who you are being.

Let me give you an example.

Sarah is reading about abundance, and she learns that her environment is incredibly important in manifesting her desires. She consciously understands the concepts, and it makes complete sense to her.

She looks around her office and notices that she really needs some organizers, and that flowers would really make a difference.

The next time sheโ€™s at the store, she sees the most beautiful bouquet of flowers and it stops her.

She really wants the flowers, but doesnโ€™t like the price tag, and even though she feels different energetically around the flowers, she decides to pass them by because she believes they are too expensive.

Sue has a conscious understanding of the Laws, but she is not putting those laws into practice, therefore her understanding has not become part of who she is being, and her mindset is not unshakeable.

She desperately wants an abundant life, and yet, she makes her decisions based in lack.

Have faith in the Laws and put them into practice in every area of your life.

Itโ€™s the only way to create a rock solid mindset.

Faith and expectations

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from James B.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David,

Over the years I have read works by Wattles, Allen and Holliwell, and have been trained by Proctor. I do good work with clients, but I cannot understand โ€œfaithโ€. I have no religious beliefs. I believe I'm a good person and strive to help all people achieve the success they desire.

Because I seemingly have no faith, and you mention God, Spirit, Source, and use other terms, how do I get over this faith โ€œemptinessโ€ I have and really move forward in my life and business, please?

Neagle Code Answer

Hi James,

Without faith, you wouldnโ€™t be able to create anything in your life.

So when you say you have no faith, you are incorrect.

You had faith that you could help people, and so you did.

Faith is an expectation.

If youโ€™ve read Wattles, Allen and Holliwell, you will notice there is no mention of faith in terms of religion.

The faith they speak of is a faith in the power of our own ability to create what we want when we want itโ€ฆ the power of our own belief in what is possible and how expectation (faith) is an integral part of anything that you create.

I encourage you to re-examine your understanding of faith, and release the idea that you must have faith in some outside force (God, religion).

Instead, continue to study truth in terms of Universal Law, and practice having faith in The Laws.

The Power of Gratitude

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

Iโ€™m getting ready for the Thanksgiving Holiday and am reflecting on all the things I am thankful for. I remembered you did a teaching a year or so ago on the power of gratitude, and while I know itโ€™s โ€œgoodโ€ to be grateful (my mom taught me that), can you explain why you had said itโ€™s so powerful?

Neagle Code Answer

Great question, and I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!!

Gratitude is THE one emotion that we experience, and can cause ourselves to experience through practice, that keeps us directly connected to our source of supply in life.

It not only makes us feel good about the blessings we all have in our lives, but can and should be practiced in advance of receiving something we desire.

Hereโ€™s an example of what Iโ€™m talking aboutโ€ฆ

Think of something youโ€™d like to

create, have or experience.

Now fill in the blank below.

โ€œIโ€™m so happy and grateful now that I have/am/experiencing _____________________.โ€

Then allow yourself to feel the emotion of that gratitude as if youโ€™ve already received your desire.

Feel it in your body, and believe that it is happening right now.

Doing this we also combine Gratitude with Faith and Belief that the things and good we desire will come to us.

It demonstrates positive creative expectancy, and when we do that, we can create anything we truly desire in life.

And hereโ€™s the great partโ€ฆ donโ€™t just practice gratitude around the holidays.

Make it a daily practice.

Everyday write down 3 things you are grateful forโ€ฆeven if youโ€™re not feeling very grateful for anything, and just see the miracles youโ€™ll create in your life!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
