How Do I Handle My Crazy Work Load?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Ron.ย

Neagle Code Question

Hi David,

How do I stop distraction? My mind is constantly pulling me in 10 different directions. Iโ€™ll study something youโ€™re sayingโ€”then my mind drifts offโ€ฆor my phone lights up and I get thrown off track.

Also, now that everything is open, my business is getting crazy. Iโ€™m trying to stay disciplined and stick to whatโ€™s on my calendar. But there are so many things I need to do that, and I keep getting off track. It makes me frustrated. Thereโ€™s not enough hours in the day to get everything done, and my whole timing gets thrown off. Can you help?

Neagle Code Answer

There are a few things Iโ€™d suggest.

First of all, shut off the phone. Put it in a different room, away from you, and just turn it off.

Secondly, when it comes to studying, most people experience what youโ€™re experiencing. When theyโ€™re reading or listening to something, their mind will go on a thought trip, based on something that grabbed their attention. Theyโ€™ll start thinking about what theyโ€™re experiencing in the moment.

Thatโ€™s why I encourage you to listen to things, and read things more than once. Thatโ€™s the process of study.

Right now, your mind has a lot of unanswered questionsโ€ฆ which I think is great.

Stop beating yourself up over it. I think you need to be a bit more calm and patient with yourself. Listen to the audios as many times as you need to, until you run the brain out of those questions, so youโ€™re satisfied with the answers.

Youโ€™re doing fine. You really are. But calm down a little bit. Take a deep breath. Try to be as present as you can with whatever youโ€™re doing.

Make the world start to conform to YOU, instead of you being pulled in so many directions by whatโ€™s happening around you.

Thirdly, when it comes to your business, you need help. Maybe itโ€™s time to hire someone in the specific areas where you need help. Get an assistant or hire somebody.

Thatโ€™s part of the challenge of being in businessโ€”is having to hire (and sometimes fire) people. Welcome to being in business.

Many business owners get hung up on, โ€œHow am I going to pay this person?โ€ And so, they suffer and complain and donโ€™t hire the person.

Thereโ€™s no other answer. You can only do so much. Why be miserable? Just hire someone. If you have to lay them off in a month because things slow back down again, then you lay them off. Thatโ€™s the nature of life.

But seriously, try to calm yourself and ask:

How can this be fun?

Whatโ€™s the Process for Getting Unstuck?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.ย

Neagle Code Question

Hi David,

What do I need to do to get unstuck? Is stepping into gratitude all thatโ€™s required?

Neagle Code Answer

Great question!

To answer this, Iโ€™ll quote something from โ€œThe Science of Getting Richโ€ by Wallace D. Wattles.

In Chapter 7 on Gratitude, in the 13th line, he says:

โ€œThe whole process of mental adjustment and atonement can be summed up in one word: gratitude. First, you believe there is one Intelligent Substance, from which all things proceed. Secondly, you believe that this Substance gives you everything you desire. Thirdly, you relate yourself to it through a feeling of deep and profound gratitude.โ€

Thatโ€™s itโ€”thatโ€™s the process for getting unstuck.

When youโ€™re stuck, itโ€™s usually because youโ€™re not viewing something accurately.

Getting unstuck is about adjusting your mind and shifting your outlook. (He calls this โ€œmental adjustment and atonement.โ€) Atonement is simply correcting an error such as an error in thinking.

You bring yourself back to the awareness that โ€œone Intelligent Substanceโ€ exists (i.e., God or the Universe and everything in it).

You see yourself as being a part of that โ€œIntelligent Substance,โ€ not outside of it. (Nothing can exist outside of God or the universe.)

And finally, you feel a sense of gratitude that everything you want is already here.

P.S. Whenever you're ready… here are 3 ways I can help you grow YOUR business:

  • Listen to The Successful Mind Podcast. Three times per week I drop cutting edge information and strategies relating to successย mindset, leadership, wealth creation and relationships.

A Rough Few Days

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.ย

Neagle Code Question

Iโ€™ve been having a rough few days. I feel like everything in our firm is broken. My employees arenโ€™t doing a good job. Our technology isnโ€™t working. Weโ€™re not collecting money. Iโ€™m finding fault in everything, and itโ€™s discouraging to me. I canโ€™t even think of one positive thing to try and break out of this.

It really hit home when you were teaching on the need to focus on the vision and not the problems. I made a list of broken things that I need to fix. But maybe Iโ€™m phrasing it the wrong way. Can you help me?

Neagle Code Answer

Hereโ€™s the thing. With everything thatโ€™s going on right now with COVID-19, it leaves the mind open to suggestion.

Our mind is constantly on alert for finding things that are wrong.

If we start looking at one thing thatโ€™s wrongโ€ฆwe get consumed by that idea. We go into the โ€œcreative energyโ€ of making other things wrong.

Thatโ€™s where we start having all these other problems.

Very rarely does it look like weโ€™re creating this ourselves.

Itโ€™s like, โ€œWell, now all my employees are having a problem, and my vendors are having a problem. Nobodyโ€™s collecting any money.โ€ It seems like an external issue.

We then start expanding on thatโ€ฆby focusing on it more. Thatโ€™s the โ€œcreative energyโ€ weโ€™re putting out into the universe around the thing weโ€™re afraid of.

The idea is that you have to stop it. Forget about the problems.

Focus on: Where am I going? What is the result I want? What is the outcome Iโ€™m going to focus on?

And you start moving in that direction.

Even in my company, weโ€™ve had to change many things over the last two months. Some things broke down. There were miscommunications within our team. There was a lot of pivoting, a lot of doing things last minute. A lot of things got overlooked.

I think as a business owner, youโ€™re always faced with this choice of, โ€œDo I look at this as something negative โ€” or do I look at this as something positive?โ€

Whatโ€™s worked for me is focusing on being super grateful for all those things that broke downโ€ฆbecause they tell you where you need to grow and what you need to fix, so that you can have the business you want in 6 months, 12 months, or a year.

Donโ€™t focus on the problems or beat yourself up for them. That actually keeps you in the problem.

If you find a problem, or someone on your team brings you a problem, itโ€™s an opportunity to say, โ€œFantastic. Now we know what needs to be fixed. Now we have a crack to fill. That will help us as we move forward.โ€

Try to stay focused on how each โ€œproblemโ€ will help you, how this will be one less issue youโ€™ll have to solve in 6 months or in 12 months.

Focus on gratitude and where youโ€™re going in growth.

I totaled my car AND my attitude

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

I recently had a car wreck. My vehicle was totaled, and Iโ€™ve been in serious pain.

Although Iโ€™m better nowโ€ฆ Iโ€™ve had a crappy attitude because Iโ€™m in chronic pain.

How do I get my business jump-started, despite my poor attitude? I canโ€™t afford coaching or things like that, because I had to replace my car. Can you offer any advice?

Neagle Code Answer

Great question. And Iโ€™m sorry youโ€™ve had that trouble.

Hereโ€™s the thingโ€ฆ you had a setback in your life. We all have setbacks. And yours is starting to affect your thinking.

It can be very difficult and challenging to keep your attitude in a good place when youโ€™re in pain.

Iโ€™m no stranger to pain. After I broke my back years ago when I got sucked through a dam, I was in pain for 30 years. (Iโ€™m just now figuring out how to get out of that.)

If I were you, I would find something about this setback to be deeply and profoundly grateful for.

This situation is asking you to pay attention to something. You have to figure out what that is, because it will totally change your life.

Moving forward, the mindset you have is your choice. You get to choose that, and nobody can take that away from you.

After youโ€™ve expressed gratitudeโ€ฆ ask yourself, โ€œWhy am I working? What do I really want to achieve? What do I want my life to be about?โ€

Really get a bigger vision for yourself. I think thatโ€™s important.

If we donโ€™t have a vision for our life, then we donโ€™t have much of anything… because weโ€™re just showing up, being reactive to everything. Then itโ€™s about survival. Itโ€™s about getting through one day to the next. (That can be really important when a person is in so much pain.) Youโ€™re just trying to get from one day to the next, because thatโ€™s whatโ€™s getting your attention the most.

Create a vision for your future. Bring that in close and intimate with yourself. Then create a plan to go after it with everything youโ€™ve got.

The Law of Polarity states that everything has an opposite, and it is equal and opposite. The bigger the setback you have in your life, the bigger the opportunity is for you to move forward. That is an absolute law.

Most people donโ€™t know that. Or they donโ€™t take the time to find out what the opportunity isโ€ฆ because the setback causes so much pain and distress in their life. All they can focus on is how miserable they feel in the moment.

The way to break through this is to become grateful. Find anything to be grateful about.

Ask yourself, โ€œWhat is the biggest gift in this, that can change my future?โ€

When the answer shows up, pay attention and move on immediately.

Releasing Resentment

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

I work for myself and am an expert in my line of work. I take lots of actionโ€ฆyet I feel SO resentful because Iโ€™m not getting the results I want. I have what I call โ€œhunting fatigue.โ€ Things seem to take forever to materialize. Iโ€™m really frustrated.

I saw a blog you did about resentment, and that resonated with me.

How can I get over the resentment?

Neagle Code Answer

Great question!

Many people struggle with this, so youโ€™re not alone.

Let me ask you:

What is your resentment really about?

Whenever you have a situation you feel resentful aboutโ€ฆ itโ€™s waking up a dormant sense of resentment thatโ€™s already in you.

Itโ€™s not causing the resentment โ€” itโ€™s stirring up a feeling thatโ€™s already there.

The key is to figure out what youโ€™re truly resentful about. Those other things in your life are just triggering that feeling within you.

If you want to change this, you have to want to let the resentment go.

In your core, be honest with yourself and ask, โ€œAm I ready to let this go?โ€

If the answer is yesโ€ฆ then donโ€™t ever say youโ€™re resentful again. Let this be the last time you say that.

Donโ€™t allow the feeling to be in your life at all.

The only emotion you should be feeling is gratitude.

Be grateful for everything that shows up in your life.

I donโ€™t care how bad it is โ€” everything that shows up in your life is moving you towards being more of who you really are.

Gratitude is the only appropriate emotion for whatever shows up.

All of our negative emotions were handed down to us by other people. We โ€œlearnedโ€ these emotions by observing how other people responded to different problems in life.

Most of us didnโ€™t see people responding to problems with gratitude. We saw them respond with resentment. Or anger. Or entitlement. Or in a sad way.

โ€ฆSo WE learned to respond in those ways, too.

Every problem in your life is there to show you:

  • another side of yourself
  • a better way to move forward
  • something youโ€™re doing wrong, so you can correct it

When you recognize this truthโ€ฆ the appropriate response is to have gratitude for each โ€œproblemโ€ that shows up.

Decide: โ€œThis is the way Iโ€™m going to live from this day forward โ€” with gratitude for everything.โ€

YOU are the common denominator in all the problems in your life. If youโ€™re exhausted, then youโ€™re putting too much stress onto it.

All of us are going to have to get up, take a shower, eat, and do all kinds of thingsโ€ฆ every day for the rest of our lives.

We can either resist doing those things, or we can accept them.

If we accept them โ€” and if weโ€™re grateful for the opportunity to be alive in a wonderful world โ€” then we move through the world in a completely different way.

We were given this God-like ability to make choices. We can create our life any way that we want.

Donโ€™t spend another second in resentment. Be grateful for everything, and if you donโ€™t like something, change it.

Got Debt?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David! You teach that money is energy, and it occurred to me that debt may be a reflection of having received more than one has given.

Is that accurate? If so, what is the best way to reverse this equation?

It seems obvious to say ‘give more' – but give what? I donโ€™t have ANY extra financial resources.

Thanks.

Neagle Code Answer

This is an excellent question!

Many people have issues with debt and the stigma and shame that come along with it.

To address your first question, debt is not a reflection of having received more than one has given.

Debt is essentially a tool and should be used as such. Most people think that debt is โ€œbad,โ€ but imagine what your life would be like without it.

How would you purchase a house or invest in education or experiences for yourself without it?

Instead of thinking
of it negatively,

be grateful for it.

All that being said, if youโ€™re accumulating debt from a dysfunctional place, itโ€™s very important that you address the underlying reason for your spending habits.

Are you buying things to fill a need (love, security or self esteem), or are you investing in your growth?

The second part of your question deals with something very differentโ€ฆ

You alluded that itโ€™s tough to give if youโ€™re in debt.

When you give, it doesnโ€™t have to be financially.

Doing a favor for a neighbor, giving of your time or your talents, and volunteering are just a few ways to โ€œgiveโ€ until you have the resources to give financially.

The Power of Gratitude

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

Iโ€™m getting ready for the Thanksgiving Holiday and am reflecting on all the things I am thankful for. I remembered you did a teaching a year or so ago on the power of gratitude, and while I know itโ€™s โ€œgoodโ€ to be grateful (my mom taught me that), can you explain why you had said itโ€™s so powerful?

Neagle Code Answer

Great question, and I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!!

Gratitude is THE one emotion that we experience, and can cause ourselves to experience through practice, that keeps us directly connected to our source of supply in life.

It not only makes us feel good about the blessings we all have in our lives, but can and should be practiced in advance of receiving something we desire.

Hereโ€™s an example of what Iโ€™m talking aboutโ€ฆ

Think of something youโ€™d like to

create, have or experience.

Now fill in the blank below.

โ€œIโ€™m so happy and grateful now that I have/am/experiencing _____________________.โ€

Then allow yourself to feel the emotion of that gratitude as if youโ€™ve already received your desire.

Feel it in your body, and believe that it is happening right now.

Doing this we also combine Gratitude with Faith and Belief that the things and good we desire will come to us.

It demonstrates positive creative expectancy, and when we do that, we can create anything we truly desire in life.

And hereโ€™s the great partโ€ฆ donโ€™t just practice gratitude around the holidays.

Make it a daily practice.

Everyday write down 3 things you are grateful forโ€ฆeven if youโ€™re not feeling very grateful for anything, and just see the miracles youโ€™ll create in your life!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Can I manifest money to pay off debt?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David,

You've mentioned the law: “If you have a strong enough desire for something, the money MUST be there.” Please say more about how this works. For instance, if I SHOULD manifest enough money to pay off debt, does this mean that I don't DESIRE it enough to manifest the money because it's more of a “should”? Or, in another case, if I really, really desire the $50,000 car I saw drive by me yesterday, am I likely to manifest the money more readily? How does a “should” versus a “desire” affect manifestation?

Neagle Code Answer

Thanks for this great question!

Most people arenโ€™t excited about paying debt, but that doesnโ€™t mean the money isnโ€™t there. I recommend paying off your debt AND buying the car.

Your goals should allow you to accomplish ANYTHING you want, and if paying off your debt and purchasing a new car is what you want, thatโ€™s the goal you should be setting.

However, you donโ€™t need to focus on paying all your debt at once. Thereโ€™s nothing wrong with paying it off in increments. You donโ€™t want to make paying off that debt a hardship for yourself, or youโ€™ll come to resent it, and that opens up a new problem. Make sure you donโ€™t sacrifice everything to pay it off.

The only flip side to your โ€œdesire and shouldโ€ question has to do with shame.

If you have shame around your debt, if youโ€™re embarrassed by it, or try to hide it, you will have a difficult time manifesting the money needed to pay it off.

Why?

Because how you do anything is how you do everything, and if youโ€™re experiencing shame, it will prevent you from doing the things necessary to manifest the money.

So if you canโ€™t see that debt is simply a tool and be grateful for it and truly appreciate what itโ€™s provided to you, you may want to take a long hard look as to how you actually feel about the debt.

Once you drop the shame and negative feelings around it, youโ€™ll be surprised how much easier it will be to manifest the money to pay it off.

What’s the key to upping my vibration?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from an individual who wishes to remain anonymous.

Question:

I know that my thoughts and emotions are a key ingredient in manifesting what I want in my life. That being said, I'm wondering if you know a strategy to keep myself at a high vibrational level? I find I get sucked down into the negative more than I'd like.

Answer:

The true key to joy and happiness is through gratitude. Sounds simple, yes? Just be grateful for everything, and you will live in a state of bliss. Easy…

Let me break it down for you a little more.

The key to joy and happiness is gratitude, BUT, the key to gratitude is to be a master of your thoughts and emotions.

Let me give you an example…

You are driving down the highway and someone is driving exceptionally slow in front of you. You are heading somewhere and really just want to get home from wherever you were.

Now, you have a choice of how to respond to this.

You can choose to be annoyed, irritated, and begin the self talk of, “Why does this always happen to me? Look at this idiot in front of me, someone needs to teach him to drive. I wish this jerk would get over so I can pass him!” At this point you're not feeling very grateful for this experience. And you certainly aren't filled with joy.

OR

You can choose to see this person in front of you as a gift. You can say to yourself, “Maybe I should slow down a bit. It is a beautiful day. Maybe this speed is a link in a chain of events geared toward helping me avoid an accident.” Now you're feeling grateful and probably a little bit joyful as well.

The situation is the same in both scenarios, and you have the power to CHOOSE how you are going to respond to this experience. You have the power to choose to be joyful and happy.

This example can be replayed in ANY event in your life. You always have the power to choose your response. And your response is the key to your positive or negative experience.

THIS TAKES PRACTICE. And sometimes you may even need someone to remind you to stop and think about how you are reacting.

Always remember…God is good all the time.
