Do I need to spend my way to success?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Marta.

Neagle Code Question

David I've heard you teach recently that you need to spend your way to success. Can you explain a little more about what that means?

Thanks so much for your time and message!

Neagle Code Answer

Thanks for the question, Marta!

What I mean when I say you have to spend your way to success is you have to be willing to invest in your own growth and desires.

If you’re not willing to invest in yourself and your business, you will hit a financial wall and not be able to break through. For you and your business to grow you have to up-level.

First, you must believe that you can earn a certain amount of money. Then make financial commitments that will give you enough pressure to get to work.

Keep in mind that you want to commit to the next level, but not so much that you fold under the pressure.

When you’re too comfortable with where you are, it doesn’t create enough urgency to change, and you won’t do what you have to do to earn the money you want.

It is easier to stay in your comfort zone than to go beyond it; therefore if you don’t create the urgency that forces you out of it, you will get just to the edge of your comfort zone, but not far enough to really create change.

So raise your standard of living and buy that new car or that new thing you want, expand your team or invest in trainings and coaching.

But remember, you also have to raise your standard in your work to bring in the money to pay for it.

Keep doing this and your income will continually increase month after month. If you commit to setting aside 10% of your gross income each month, not only will your income increase, so will your wealth savings account!

Can I go into debt to invest in my business?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Is it OK to go into debt to build your business and invest in business growth strategies?

Neagle Code Answer

Hi, and thanks for your question.

This question is the perfect example of my teachings on using debt as a tool.

I truly believe that the best use of debt is in the investment in your own growth, whether it’s personal, spiritual or business.

If you talk to any successful business owner, you will see that they have used debt to propel their business.

However, there are parameters around using debt to grow your business.

First, before considering taking out a loan, you MUST have a plan. You must have an actionable strategy with clear-cut goals and benchmarks or be investing in a program that’s going to give you that clear-cut plan.

Taking out a loan and not having a plan in place that allows for you to pay it back is financially irresponsible and only serves as a Band-Aid.

Second, you must be WILLING do what it takes to get a return on investment. This means you have to take action on your plan, and allow nothing to stop you.

A plan and goals are only as good as the paper they are written on. You must be WILLING to take action.

I see entrepreneurs EVERYDAY who spend money on building their business or getting the information they need to build their business, but they never take the action they need to take to grow, and life becomes very hard.

The debt piles up and stress, worry, fear and doubt take hold.

Suddenly they find themselves wondering what happened and why things aren’t working and why things are so hard.

You see…success is EASY if you are willing.

I’m doing a free mini-course on this exact topic at 2:00 pm ET on September 1st. I even titled it, “Stop Making Things HARD.” Click here to join me: www.DavidNeagle.com/hard-enough

Must I spend money to make money?

Neagle Code Question

Hi David,

I’ve recently heard you tell people that they need to spend their way to success. Can you explain that a little better please?

Thanks for the question!

What I mean when I say you have to spend your way to success is you have to be willing to invest in your own growth.

What if my prospect is in money fear?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions
for Life”
comes from Courtney Ann

Neagle Code Question

What do you do after you share a high value program with a client who really wants it but is concerned about how to make the financial investment happen? How should I respond and how many times do you recommend I follow up with them?

Neagle Code Answer

Thank you for asking the question, Courtney Ann!

Even though the client says they want the program, their fear, doubt and worry is stronger than their desire for the result.

I’d recommend asking the client questions to understand exactly where their fear is coming from so that they can see why they are experiencing what they are experiencing.

It could be that their concern is more based on the reactions of others rather than on their own concerns but until you get to the root of the problem, you cannot move forward.

Then, if they really do need help finding the money, give them a homework assignment to find the money for the payment.

Have them make a list of 30 ways they could bring in the money and instruct them to email the list to you. That will show you that they are serious, and you can direct them to start tackling the items on their list until they have enough for the payment.

This way THEY are following up with you and you're not trying to track down people who are not serious about working with you.

This also empowers them to take action immediately, and allows you to make sure they are someone you’d like to work with.
