Stuck in Indecision
This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes fromย someone who wishes to remain anonymous.ย
In my business, Iโve been working on creating a digital course. But Iโm having trouble making decisions on how to actually set it up and market it.
There are many pieces to my course, and there are multiple ways I can go about setting these up. Iโm having trouble narrowing it down. I ask myself, โWhatโs the best way to do this?โ And I get stuck in the โhow.โ
I can easily decide between two options just fine. But if there are several options to choose from, I stop. It makes me freeze. I stop because Iโm not sure how to do something. I start overthinking it.
How do I not stop when it comes to making decisions?
In some of these situations, itโd probably be best if you reached out to someone to ask them for their expertise, and whatโs the best way to do it.
If itโs something you already know and youโre trying to choose โ and youโre just getting stuck in the indecision โ your brain is searching for something. Itโs usually searching for some kind of certainty.
If weโre considering two options, we know the โfactsโ about those two things, but we donโt really know anything beyond that.
So, we just have to pick one.
Pick one thing, do it, then see what the results are. If you donโt like the results, you can change it.
If you stay in indecision, all this does is allow your imagination to start running down rabbit holes and creating scenarios that are both good and badโฆ none of which are necessarily true.
You have to pick something.
But you also have to be careful, because in the cases where you donโt know about what youโre doing โ or whatโs the best thing that needs to be done โ if thereโs an expert who does know, you need to reach out and ask for their help.
