Letting Your Parents’ Beliefs Affect Your Bank Account?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Mark.Β

Neagle Code Question

Hi David,

My father really abandoned the idea of wealth. His message was that money is not needed or the thing to work towards. What can I do to overcome that programming around money that's now in my subconscious? I really want to break through this.

Neagle Code Answer

Hi Mark and thanks for the great question!

You know, it's not about breaking through anything.

It's about you understanding why you feel a need to be obedient to your father's rule in life because that's what's controlling your results.

It's not uncommon because we're basically raised to be obedient to our parents.

Somewhere along the line, it became painful to do something different than how your father saw life.

He still has authority in your mind over the way he thinks life should be lived, and you're being obedient to that authority.

Once you understand WHY you feel the need to be obedient, you can push through to form and follow your own beliefs.

Ask yourself this: How is it serving you to stay obedient to your father’s beliefs? What do you hope to gain from being the obedient son?

This is your life. You can live it how YOU want to live it.

An Exercise to Conquer Fear

An Exercise to Conquer Fear

Do you let fear stop you from taking action on creating the life of your dreams?

If so, here’s an exercise for you.

Take out a blank sheet of paper. Write down all the things you haven’t done in your life because of fear.

And understand this:

In order for fear to get you to say β€œno,” it has to get your agreement.

Don’t ever forget this. If you can remember this for the rest of your life, it will allow you to do something most people never do β€” to step out of the fear briefly, and analyze your decision from a place of TRUTH.

If fear is stopping you…ask yourself, β€œWhat am I agreeing with in my fear?”

Is it that you can’t do it? That something will go wrong? That you’ll make a mistake?

All the reasons why you β€œcan’t” do something are wrapped up in your fear.

…That’s how fear stops every person. That’s the only way fear can stop you…

It gets you to agree with something that’s not true.

So…what do you agree with?

Human beings are only born with two fears β€” the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises. Our two-million-year-old brain has a mechanism designed to stop us from doing things that might kill us.

But today, once you grow up, fear is not something that should even be part of your life.

Why? Because you have the ability to choose.

Many people live in fear of all kinds. Maybe they have fear in their relationship, fear in their finances, fear in their health, fear in where they live…

But we have the ability to choose.

If we’re actually in some kind of danger, we can choose to move ourselves out of that danger. So there’s no reason to live in fear.

When fear stops you from doing something β€” just pause and ask yourself, β€œWhat am I agreeing with, in order for this fear to stop me?”

You’re agreeing with something.

For most people, it’s subconscious. They’re not even sure what they’re agreeing with, because they’ve never asked themselves this question before.

All they experience is the emotion β€” a bad feeling.

All they see are things in their environment that represent β€œwhy I can’t do this thing I want to do.”

They agree with it, and they stop right there.

Then there’s no forward movement.

The Power of the Dark Side

The Power of the Dark Side

No matter what you believe… the truth is that how you show up in the world today is based on what your experience of life was between the ages of 0-7.

Let me explain…

Most parents do the absolute best job they can raising their children. I think we can all agree on that. But I think we can also all agree that as children there were things that we did or said that our parents reacted strongly to. If we did something to embarrass them, if we were disrespectful, if we showed anger, our parents would react in a way that caused us to stop that natural expression of who we were.

And if you shut down your ability to express yourself to your parents, because you were only allowed to express yourself in ways that they deemed fit, you never got to know who you really are.

Why?

Because you shut off your inner voice.

That inner voice is there for every person.

It is the same as instinct is for the bird, or the squirrel, or the moose, or a tree. It tells you what to do, who to be, where to go, how to show up… but you have to learn to listen to it. And unfortunately, most of us were NEVER taught how to listen to that voice.

Instead we were taught to get our guidance from outside our selves. We were taught to look to our parents, teachers, relatives or others with β€œauthority” over us, and thus began the slow process of losing ourselves.

Look, every one of us has a purpose, but because of the way we were raised, we can’t hear our own inner desires… and even if we DO hear that inner voice, we have excuse after excuse as to why we can’t have that, do that or be that.

It's there for all of us… that purpose, that desire.

We have to start to be aware of is how much information that we've been given that leads us in the opposite direction of that. Because when you're living a life and you're not happy, when you're not making the money that you want, when you're not expressing yourself the way that you want, when you're in a relationships that sucks, what you're really doing is you're listening to somebody else's voice in your head.

You're not listening to yourself.

And you've got so many insecurities, you don't know even how to make a decision to move yourself out of that place and into the place where you want to be.

I’d like to help you with that. I’d like to help you turn this cycle around and tap into your greatest power… the power of being who you REALLY are. I’ve created a quick FREE lesson that you can access by audio or video that explains this process… and gives you steps to finally start to see who you were meant to be rather than the person everyone told you that you had to be. ENJOY!

More life…even when it doesn’t feel like it…

More life…even when it doesn’t feel like it…

If everything is an uphill battle all the time, what’s something you can do right now to stop making things hard?

When I first started studying the universal laws, I had to learn just like everybody else does. One of the most difficult things to do is to learn to follow Spirit or to follow the universe.

The first thing is to understand that the universe is perfect all the time.

We have a saying in our company: β€œGod is good all the time.” You could also say, β€œThe universe is perfect all the time.” Use whatever language you prefer.

What we mean by this, is that the universe is always for good. It’s always for more life.

That means the exact thing you need is always right in front of you…whether you can actually see it or not.

What I suggest to people is to do the one thing that’s directly in front of you right now.

What is the one thing in front of you that’s pointing you in the direction of where you want to go?

Don’t even think about it. Just do it.

Step in with faith, believing that thing will take you in the direction you want to go.

The universe is never wrong. We’re the only ones that create confusion in our own mind.

The problem is that the universe always sends us the answer, and then we start thinking about it.

β€œShould I? Shouldn’t I? Do I have the money? Don’t I have the money? Do I have the time? Don’t I have the time? Do I want to commit? Don’t I want to commit?”

The moment we start thinking about it, we start going back into the value system that keeps us stuck, creates the congestion, and keeps everything from NOT flowing.

It’s not the universe that’s doing that. WE are doing that.

Do the one thing that’s right in front of you…and don’t even think about it.

My mentor used to say, β€œDon’t even look sideways. Just make the decision and move forward in that direction.”

If you keep doing that, your success is assured. It will come. It will show up, and it will show up right on time. No question about it.

Thinking like the Middle Class?

Thinking like the Middle Class?

Most of the world is governed by a β€œmiddle class mindset.”

It’s a mindset that creates a value conflict between where you are and where you want to go.

If you were to interview people who were raised middle-class (e.g., working class)…and compare their value system to those of some of the top entrepreneurs in the world, you’d find that they’re vastly different. They’re almost polar opposites of each other.

What one person avoids doing to remain β€œsafe” β€” the other person will do, and it will make them a multi-millionaire or a billionaire.

How does the middle class mindset stop us from reaching our goal or dream?

Here’s how it works: As we begin to move toward our goal…something interesting starts to happen:

Our subconscious mind sends up a red flag and says, β€œWait a minute. Stop. It’s not okay for you to go in this direction.”

Why? Because our value system is in conflict with the direction we want to go.

…We don’t even realize this is going on.

Your subconscious mind does something extremely unique in order to get you to stop:

It literally begins to change the circumstances you’re facing each day…and it gets you to pull your focus AWAY from your goal, by creating β€œproblems” and situations that seem to need your attention.

It’s a value system β€” based on the middle class mindset β€” that causes you to start paying more attention to those β€œproblems” or circumstances…instead of keeping your focus on the goal.

This value conflict creates confusion…which leads to the β€œstruggle” or congestion.

Everything begins to slow down or stop. If we’re not aware of what’s happening, we could abandon our goal.

People often ask me, β€œWhat do I do when something goes wrong? What do I do when the β€˜flow’ seems to stop?”

One of the first things I’ll ask them is, β€œWhat are you resisting?”

If you’re in resistance, it’s often because you have a value conflict.

The conflict by itself causes us to go into resistance against what we want. Of course, whenever you have resistance, you don’t have flow.

That’s when people go into fear, doubt, and worry. From there, everything goes to hell in a hand basket…because all that person sees are the things they don’t want to see.

Are you focused on the goal or the β€œproblems”?

Are Ease and Grace possible?

Are Ease and Grace possible?

Have you ever experienced β€œease” and β€œgrace” in your life…where everything seems to be flowing well? Things work well…and everything goes smoothly.

That β€œflow” is how the universe was designed to be.

In fact, it’s the natural order of the universe.

(It’s also the main idea behind the principle of β€œmore life to all.”)

The universe β€” and everything in it β€” operates in perfect harmony…according to the needs of the whole.

If you look in nature, everything fulfills its purpose…and it does so brilliantly. The oak tree becomes the best, most magnificent oak tree that it can become…and it does so without struggle. All animals and plants do the same (unless humans get involved).

If this is the case…then why are so many people NOT living their purpose with ease and grace?

Why are so many creating struggle and chaos instead?

What prevents us from experiencing
the natural flow and ease of life?

One word: resistance.

When we’re in resistance…this brings confusion, chaos, and congestion. Things start to break down. β€œProblems” pop up in our life, and all hell breaks loose. Nothing seems to work.

That’s why I always ask people who are β€œstuck”…

What are you resisting?

The universe doesn’t stop us from being, doing, or having anything in our life.

The truth is…WE’RE the only thing that stops the flow in our own life.

Usually it’s something in our subconscious programming that keeps us from flipping the easy switch.

Think about what you might be resisting in your own life?

If you have a goal or desire…what are you resisting being, doing, or having that would help you move closer to reaching that goal?

That’s resistance.

It’s only when we become non-resistant to the ease and grace of the universe…do we start to experience that effortless state of β€œflow.”

I’ll be talking more about this topic in the next few articles…stay tuned!

The Art of Success – Article #8 – Playing the blame game?

Playing the blame game?

We live in a society that’s steeped in blame.

Had a bad day? Blame your boss. Bad mood? Blame your spouse. Feeling irritated? Blame the guy who cut you off in traffic.

It’s considered β€œnormal” to blame.

As a life strategy, this may have worked for you as a kid. (β€œIt’s Johnny or Mary’s fault all the cookies are gone!”)…and you may have gotten away with it.

…But blaming doesn’t have any place in your adult life. Not if you want to create a magnificent life.

It simply reinforces the idea that you’re a β€œvictim” of your circumstances (which is not true).

Blaming is one of the most disempowering things you could ever do, because it implies that someone else is responsible for your results.

…which brings me to today’s question: Who exactly is responsible for your thoughts?

As adults, we’re responsible for what we turn over to our subconscious mind. However, we were NOT responsible for what was placed in our subconscious minds as small children.

Prior to the age of 7, we had no conscious mind developed. As children, we had no ability to question, analyze, or reject an idea. We accepted everything we were exposed, and those thoughts, ideas and experiences became fixed in there (like water pouring into an open fishbowl).

All those ideas, emotions, opinions, experiences, and evaluations of life eventually became the raw materials for your current belief system.

As you grew up, that belief system began to express itself in the way you thought, acted, and carried yourself…well into your adult life.

Here’s the kicker: Something you could not reject at age 4 could still be running your life today, and you may not even be aware of it.

So, who’s responsible for what’s currently in your subconscious mind today?

Really think about that.

You can’t change history. However, you now have a conscious mind, which means you’re free to reject thoughts that no longer serve you.

It’s now YOUR responsibility to examine your beliefs and ideas and decide what can stay and what must go.

The Art of Success – Article #7 – Get out of my brain!

Get out of my brain!

Did you know that the conscious mind and the subconscious mind are two very different things?

Both interact with your body in different way, and they impact your actions in different ways as well.

Let me explain…

Our conscious mind has the ability to choose and reason. It’s where our free will lies. Anything that comes into our conscious awareness, we can choose to accept or reject.

The subconscious mind, however, is very different. Anything that goes into the subconscious mind sticks. It stays there. It becomes fixed there. The subconscious mind has no ability to reject anything. When an idea gets fixed there, the only thing it can do is express itself through your physical body β€” through feelings and actions.

…That’s why it’s a good idea to make sure you’re monitoring what you’re allowing into your subconscious mind!

If you’re not paying attention, negative and unsupportive ideas can easily slip in and negatively affect your results.

In a simple conversation, someone else’s negative idea can slip in and start to affect your thinking and behaviors β€” if you don’t consciously reject the idea.

Here’s the good news…

We don’t have to
automatically accept the
things we hear.

You can simply say, β€œNo, that’s not for me. I’m choosing something better.”

Or if you’re in conversation, you can simple say, β€œI understand that’s your perception or experience, but I don’t agree.”

Remember, the conscious mind has the power to accept or reject any thought.

The subconscious mind has no choice but to act upon whatever is given to it.

So always be conscientious of what’s being placed into your subconscious mind.

[5 Simple Steps to Unshakeable Self-Confidence Series] Article #9 ~ How to Create Lasting Change

This series is showing you how to create a new, unwavering belief in yourself.

That way, you’ll pursue your own vision of happiness, and not waste time doing things because other people say you should. You’ll know what you want and go after it.

We got that ball rolling in Steps 1 and 2, when I had you determine the thought, belief or story that was keeping you from seeing the results you want, and then replace that thought with one based in Universal Law.

In Step 3 and 4, you’re going to start creating real change in your life, but in order to do so you have to understand the foundation for why your efforts can be so successful.

How Beliefs Are Formed
Your subconscious does its best to keep you right where you are. It’s designed to carry out programming, and it does that job very well.

Who controls the programming of your subconscious?

You do, with your ability to accept or reject an idea.

However, you don’t develop that ability to reason until about age seven. Until then, without realizing it, you simply absorb the beliefs of your guardians, teachers, and others around you.

By the time you become aware of your consciousness, you are already seeing through a filter of your programming, and you don’t even realize it.

The problem is compounded because your programming creates your reality, the situations and circumstances in your life, and then you react to those circumstances in the way that you’re programmed to do, and, thus, perpetuate the cycle.

In addition, since you’re trained to experience life with your five senses, you likely perceive that everything that is happening around you is not only real, but fixed.

You probably say things like, β€œThis is the way that it is. This is my experience. This is reality,” when, in fact, it’s just what you’re creating in the moment.

Are you beginning to understand why you might be stuck?

How, try as you might, on certain issues, you just haven’t been able to make any headway?

Your New Reality
Now, the good news is that you can change your subconscious through experience.

If you give yourself a different experience, by taking action, your subconscious has to accept it, and then you form a new belief and start to create a new reality from there.

Your subconscious starts generating results based on your new belief, and your self-confidence grows.

For example, I had a student who literally changed her life by flying first-class to Europe. That experience emboldened her so much, that over the next two years, she transitioned out of her old business, which she’d built because it was β€œsafe,” and created a new business of her dreams.

She is now so much more confident, that she’s hardly recognizable to family and old friends.

Her experience is far from unique.

As you grow in confidence, you start taking bigger actions, which create bigger and better results.

And before you know it, you’re trusting yourself implicitly, and your life has truly changed.
