How to rise up when present conditions are negative

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Heather B.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

Wattles tells us: “Use your present job or business to go to the one you like … act on your present environment to go to a better one.” But suppose someone is completely unemployed? What does he do? Suppose he was raised in a terrible neighborhood steeped in poverty and without opportunities? How does he act on it to get to a better environment?

Neagle Code Answer

Hi Heather, and thanks for your question!

What Wattles writes is absolutely true. He’s really referring to being your best in ANY situation, which then leads to an awareness of how your situation can change.

I think the main thing I am picking up from your question, is that somewhere “he” is looking at “his” current situation as a victim looks at a situation.

The truth is, no one is forced to do anything, and the “he” you are speaking of is the cause of creating the situation to begin with.

If a person feels they are forced to live in horrible conditions due to lack of money, it means that they are being a victim of their own life.

Spirit doesn’t give one person unlimited potential and then cap the potential of the guy sitting next to him.

When Wattles teaches to act on the present environment, he is teaching that we need to change who WE are or how WE are thinking so that we can see that we have a different choice that will lead us up and out.

A victim will only see what keeps him being a victim.

Instead of being a victim, one needs to be empowered. Instead of focusing on the negative, we must ask ourselves different questions.

Instead of feeling forced to live in substandard conditions, one must seek out the way to bring in the money, even if it’s to begin in a minimum wage job.

Each step and decision will lead to a new and better opportunity only if the person truly wants to change.

What Super-Powers would a Super-Victim have? (Impossible…)

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from an individual who wishes to remain anonymous.

Question:

How does one pick up after 30 yrs of successful business only to lose everything including wife of 30 years? I have hit the skids and can't seem to get out.

Answer:

Everything that happens to you in your lifetime has happened because you created it.

You've created all the joyous moments and the painful moments, and you've created it for a reason.

Napolean Hill states in his book, Think and Grow Rich, that opportunity often comes disguised as misfortune or temporary defeat.

Letting go of any resentment you still hold will allow you to see the opportunity, and although what happened feels like a tragedy, the blessing that it brings far outweighs that tragedy.

There is something really big and powerful on the other side of this, and you created the downfall to force your own growth.

Your first step in overcoming the anger and resentment that is keeping you from seeing the opportunity is to take responsibility for the situation.

You can't be powerful and a victim at the same time.

If you stay in the victim mentality, you will only see with the eyes of a victim, and you will be blind to the opportunities that are before you right now.

I’m so sorry you’re sad …

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from an individual who wishes to remain anonymous.

Question:

How do I work toward becoming “whole” after a life changing experience? My confidence is null and void. My friends tell me that there is sadness in my voice, even when I'm smiling. If I continue on this path, I will lose what little I have.

I so much appreciate your daily responses to questions asked.

Answer:

Universal Truth states that we create EVERYTHING in our lives; all the “good” and all the “bad”.

When something happens in our lives that we feel on a deep emotional level, we tend to forget that we are playing a part in that sadness. We've created it in our life.

You may not be able to understand why, and it may be incredibly painful, but you created it.

This is a tough pill to swallow for most people. They want to take credit for all the great things in their lives, and then when something bad happens, they want to blame someone or something else.

The Laws don't work half the time.

Truth is truth, and it is constant and consistent.

If you can step outside of that life changing event for just a moment, and ask yourself, what were the gifts in the experience, you will begin to see what I'm talking about.

When I got sucked through a hydroelectric dam, I could have focused on being a victim, blamed others and became bitter and angry because of all the pain, but the gift in that situation is that it completely changed my life. Had I not gone through that incredibly terrifying and excruciating experience, I wouldn't be answering this question right now.

So if you can begin to take responsibility for that event, and know you were a willing partner in it, you can then begin to feel how powerful you really are.

You won't be a victim anymore.

And when you can see the truth, it'll set you free.
