Do I need to spend my way to success?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Marta.

Neagle Code Question

David I've heard you teach recently that you need to spend your way to success. Can you explain a little more about what that means?

Thanks so much for your time and message!

Neagle Code Answer

Thanks for the question, Marta!

What I mean when I say you have to spend your way to success is you have to be willing to invest in your own growth and desires.

If you’re not willing to invest in yourself and your business, you will hit a financial wall and not be able to break through. For you and your business to grow you have to up-level.

First, you must believe that you can earn a certain amount of money. Then make financial commitments that will give you enough pressure to get to work.

Keep in mind that you want to commit to the next level, but not so much that you fold under the pressure.

When you’re too comfortable with where you are, it doesn’t create enough urgency to change, and you won’t do what you have to do to earn the money you want.

It is easier to stay in your comfort zone than to go beyond it; therefore if you don’t create the urgency that forces you out of it, you will get just to the edge of your comfort zone, but not far enough to really create change.

So raise your standard of living and buy that new car or that new thing you want, expand your team or invest in trainings and coaching.

But remember, you also have to raise your standard in your work to bring in the money to pay for it.

Keep doing this and your income will continually increase month after month. If you commit to setting aside 10% of your gross income each month, not only will your income increase, so will your wealth savings account!

What is your life’s purpose? 3 questions to help you find it

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Miranda.

Neagle Code Question

I understand about purpose, do what you love and the money will follow, but I don't have a clue what I should be doing. How do I find my purpose?

Neagle Code Answer

Miranda,

Thank you for your great question.

Finding your purpose comes from knowing who you truly are and what you desire. Your purpose is already within you and it isn’t something you look for outside yourself.

I’m sure you’ve heard my story about my boating accident where I almost died after being sucked into a dam. When I was hanging onto a tree branch for dear life, I made a promise to God that I would figure out why I hadn’t been able to do the things that I knew I should have been doing. And then do them.

Right after the accident, nothing happened. God didn’t tell me what to do. After much frustration, I realized God wasn’t going to tell me what to do. I had to make that decision myself. I started by asking myself, “What am I going to do with the rest of my life?”

At first I didn’t know the answer. I kept asking myself the question and then answers began to come forward. The first three answers I received and acted upon were to:

1. Change my attitude

2. Treat everyone with total respect

3. Do everything to the best of my ability

Now, this didn’t immediately give me the answer to my life purpose. It did help me to change and to raise my awareness. Whenever we raise our awareness, we discover more of who we truly are. The more we know who we truly are, the more answers we’re given about our unique gifts we have to share with the world.

The key here, Miranda, is to continue to ask yourself conscious questions to raise your awareness of who you are. Everyday, ask yourself, “What am I going to do with the rest of my life?” and “What do I really want?”

Just as I did and continue to do, follow the answers you are given as if they were bread crumbs creating a path and you will find yourself living your “purpose.”

Do I have to sacrifice peace to have a successful business?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

I’ve heard you teach that building a business doesn’t need to be hard, but with all the chaos around me, the sales objections, and difficulties in hiring a team, it sure DOES feel hard. David, please help me find peace in this craziness!

Thank you!

Neagle Code Answer

Hi and thanks for your question.

Here is the truth:

Peace is a choice.

I think it’s very safe to say that every entrepreneur on the edge of an up-level or big growth opportunity has experienced what you described above.

The interesting thing here is that YOU are actually creating the chaos.

Let me be more specific. Your EGO is creating all the chaos, and it’s serving a particular purpose.

All of these events are designed to place fear, worry and doubt in your mind, so that you go back.

But here’s the great thing about the chaos. If you’re creating it, you can stop it.

The amazing thing about being human is that you have the gift of choice. You can choose how you respond to these situations, and it’s in that choice that you have the power to escalate or de-escalate them.

You can choose not be emotionally attached to the chaos around you and even in the midst of stress, you can remain peaceful.

If you’re choosing to make things hard, take a look at your value system. Chances are that value system dictates success must be hard.

Remember, everything just “is”. It’s your reaction and judgment that makes things hard.

Make a decision that it’s easy to grow your business, and then when a negative result shows up, see it for what it really is and don’t get emotionally tied to it.

Instead ask: “What do I need to see about this situation so that I can make a different choice and experience a different result?”

If you can do that, you’ll be well on your way to building a more peaceful business.

How to stop yourself from ruining everything

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

I have followed you for awhile now and I am blown away. Your teachings allowed me to see an opportunity that was right in front of me for a LONG time. This opportunity has already put an additional $50,000 in my bank account. But now that I have the income I am feeling the pull of my psycho-cybernetic setting and I can feel resistance creeping in. I am so worried and scared that I am going to sabotage this opportunity and all the new income it brings- how can I stop it?

Neagle Code Answer

Hi and thanks for your question.

First of all, CONGRATS on the extra $50,000.00 in income. That’s fantastic, and something I enjoy watching my private clients discover for themselves as well.

The key thing to remember is that you CAN stop yourself from breaking down and sabotaging yourself. Immediately stop saying that you can’t.

The first step is to become aware of what beliefs are causing the worry.

Ask yourself why you are feeling worried and scared. From that answer, keep asking questions until you feel like you’ve hit the root issue. This will shine the light on the belief that’s allowing fear, worry and doubt to creep in.

Let the worst-case scenario play out.

Once a light is shined on the fear, you can respond to it.

For example, if you discover that your worry is coming from a place of what other people will think of you if you ruin everything, you can now address that fear for what it is.

If you shine the light on it and realize that your fear is coming from a place of wanting love and acceptance from other people, you can bring in the truth to remind yourself that what people think of you has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them.

This awareness helps neutralize the worry, because you can see it for what it is and understand your next area of growth. In the above instance, it would be strengthening your self-esteem so that you stop fearing judgment from others.

How to know when to trust

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

I'm trying to repair damage with a friend. I have forgiven them and moved past the hurt, but I don't trust them. Is this negative? Is this holding me back from moving forward?

Neagle Code Answer

People must earn your trust.

It is not something that you give freely.

Whether we are talking about your family, friends, or employees, to trust people blindly and implicitly is never a good decision, especially if they’ve shown you that they cannot be trusted.

If someone has not earned your trust, or has broken your trust in the past, you can love them for who they are, but ultimately you have to make a decision about whether or not you want to spend time with them and share your life with them.

The only way your friend can hold you back is if you make decisions based on what they think, rather than what you want.

If you find yourself caring more about what someone else thinks than what you think, you are holding yourself back.

Lastly, I want you to understand that if someone has broken your trust, chances are you’ve done the same thing to someone else and this situation is simply a mirror for you.

Remember you attract everything in your life from a place of who you are being, and to not take responsibility for part of the situation will only keep it alive and painful.

If you can see the truth in what happened, it will set you free.

How to rise up when present conditions are negative

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Heather B.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

Wattles tells us: “Use your present job or business to go to the one you like … act on your present environment to go to a better one.” But suppose someone is completely unemployed? What does he do? Suppose he was raised in a terrible neighborhood steeped in poverty and without opportunities? How does he act on it to get to a better environment?

Neagle Code Answer

Hi Heather, and thanks for your question!

What Wattles writes is absolutely true. He’s really referring to being your best in ANY situation, which then leads to an awareness of how your situation can change.

I think the main thing I am picking up from your question, is that somewhere “he” is looking at “his” current situation as a victim looks at a situation.

The truth is, no one is forced to do anything, and the “he” you are speaking of is the cause of creating the situation to begin with.

If a person feels they are forced to live in horrible conditions due to lack of money, it means that they are being a victim of their own life.

Spirit doesn’t give one person unlimited potential and then cap the potential of the guy sitting next to him.

When Wattles teaches to act on the present environment, he is teaching that we need to change who WE are or how WE are thinking so that we can see that we have a different choice that will lead us up and out.

A victim will only see what keeps him being a victim.

Instead of being a victim, one needs to be empowered. Instead of focusing on the negative, we must ask ourselves different questions.

Instead of feeling forced to live in substandard conditions, one must seek out the way to bring in the money, even if it’s to begin in a minimum wage job.

Each step and decision will lead to a new and better opportunity only if the person truly wants to change.

Is it desire or dysfunction? How to find the proper perspective

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

Some “experts” talk about desire negatively. They say that a person must let go of the desire because the desire controls them as long as they are attached to it. I think there is a middle ground; having a desire without being attached to it. Could you expand on this? What is the best way to keep the proper perspective? I like the idea of focus vs. goals because it feels like the attachment is reduced.

Neagle Code Answer

Hello, and thanks for this question!

I‘m not sure what experts you’re referring to in your question, but if we look to truth, we can find the answer to your question.

Desire is necessary.

It drives our purpose.

It pulls us to become who we are.

It helps us see when and where we need to make changes in our life.

And most importantly desire is a KEY ingredient in how we create the world around us.

Desire is not evil, but it can be dysfunctional if you mistake true desire for a dysfunctional need.

The test for all of us to keep ourselves in check and make sure that our desire is coming from a place of abundance and more life to all is to use the 4 Questions.

I teach the 4 Questions in ALL of my seminars and workshops and to all my clients.

They are a series of questions that help us determine if we desire something or if we are making a dysfunctional decision.

The questions apply to every decision you make and every desire you have.

Question 1: Is this something you want to be, do or have? (You should get a yes to this question)

Question 2: Is being, doing or having this going to take you closer to your goal? (You should get a yes to this question?)

Question 3: Is being, doing or having this in alignment with Universal Law (more life to all)? (You should get a yes to this question)

Question 4: Does being, doing or having this take away the rights of others or does it take away someone’s right to choose? (You should get a no to this question)

Use these questions daily to help you stay focused and on a clear path to your goals.

Remember: Desire is the unexpressed possibility within you, seeking expression outside of you.

To deny desire would be to deny your true self.

How NOT to get pulled into the emotions of your circumstances

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

David, I am really hoping you can make sense of this.

I was just recently made the decision to change my life…I left a failing marriage, quit my job and have begun making money in my own business, which is something I’d wanted to do for YEARS.

Ever since the day I chose to change, difficult things have happened. My dad passed away, I’ve been really sick, and my computer completely crashed along with ALL of my data. David, I know this means something. What is going on and how can I make it STOP?

Neagle Code Answer

Hi, and thanks for your question.

I’ve heard hundreds of similar stories and have even had my own experiences like this when I was first starting on my own journey.

What you are experiencing is the power of your ego.

Let me explain. Your ego’s purpose is to keep you “safe.” It perceives any growth as a risk.

What you are experiencing is your ego trying to distract you, scare you, and convince you to stop.

Unfortunately, many people experience this chaos and think that Spirit is trying to tell them that moving forward is not a good idea.

They are dead wrong.

Spirit NEVER speaks to you through fear.

The only way to get control of the chaos is to stand up to your ego. This means that you need to move from being a victim of these circumstances to being empowered.

Yell at the top of your lungs, BRING IT ON, I AM NOT STOPPING! Take your control back.

You see, we create everything in our lives; all the good things and all the not so good things. If you allow yourself to be pulled into the emotions of the circumstances, you will create more of the same.

Shift your perspective and energy and your world will shift with you.

How to overcome “It’s a lot of money” objections

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Kylie J.

Neagle Code Question

David, HELP….I HATE asking people for the money! Over the last 30 days I’ve done a ton of discovery sessions and none have turned into committed clients yet, despite them all being interested and highly targeted, qualified leads. Prospects get all excited and then they balk at the price and say, “It’s A LOT of money!

I feel like I know how to convey value. I know what to say, but when people resist the price, I back off and tolerate the “Let me think about it and get back to you” response. I just don't want to seem pushy! What should I do?

Neagle Code Answer

Fantastic question!

The true problem is that your fear of what someone is going to think of you is negatively affecting your ability to have a powerful sales conversation.

If you care more about how you are perceived than you do about helping people you won’t be aware of specific questions you can ask to overcome the “It’s a lot of money” objection.

If you weren’t afraid of being pushy, you would have responded to “It’s a lot of money” with “Compared to what?” instead of backing off and handing out your brochure.

You see, the “It’s a lot of money” answer is a conditioned response people use when faced with a decision that leads to their own growth. So you then have to ask them another question to see what the true objection is.

If you were to ask, “Compared to what?” you would be able to see how they are making their decision and allow you to redirect the conversation.

Step into being powerful and confident in your next sales conversation, and you will be amazed at the win-win conversation that will take place.

Always remember, “sales” is not doing something TO someone, it’s doing something FOR someone.

You “know it” – but are you living it?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Marty K.

Neagle Code Question

I intellectually understand the concepts of which you teach, but understanding them in my head is not the same as feeling them. How do I bring these into my heart/soul/body–internalize them– and REALLY feel them and own them?

Neagle Code Answer

What a fantastic question!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been teaching someone and they will say, “I know that.” And yet, the effects of that knowledge are not showing up in their life.

Here is the key:

EXPERIENCE CREATES UNDERSTANDING

Let me explain.

There is big difference between consciously understanding something and subconsciously becoming that understanding. In simple terms, you have to live and practice the new knowledge.

Let’s say an entrepreneur “knows” that they need to stop hiding behind their computer. They “know” that they need to talk to people. They “know” that they have a fear of rejection, and that’s what’s stopping them from having sales conversations. They “know” that if anyone judges them, that judgment is about the person judging and has nothing to do with the entrepreneur.

And yet, as the entrepreneur enters the room where they had intended to meet people and engage people in sales conversations, they allow their fear to keep them from speaking to a single person.

They “know” what’s happening, but they haven’t given themselves a new experience to prove that the fear is a lie. Therefore they haven’t created a new pattern and integrated the knowledge. They don’t truly KNOW.

The teachings that you consciously learn must become a part of who you are being, and to do that, you must experience them.
