How to FOCUS.

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

David,

I know a lot of people you work with come to you with one main idea or goal, and they want help seeing what’s keeping them from acting on that one idea or goal. For me… my problem is that I have SO MANY ideas, I have a difficult time deciding which idea to pursue or take action on. I’m one person and I want to write articles, reach out to companies, develop relationships, redo my website, speak at an event, the list goes on and on…

How do I know which idea is best?

Neagle Code Answer

Hi and thanks for the question!

I’m actually going to direct you to a video of my CEO Steph Tuss answering this exact question for one of our clients during one of our recent virtual intensives.

If you can’t catch the video, Steph recommends that everything is prioritized based on your big vision and what’s of highest need in your business.

A lot of people will tell you to focus on just one thing…but Steph and I both agree that ALL ideas should be written down and prioritized.

Everything that brings you closer to the goal the fastest gets prioritized and calendared first, everything else fills in the cracks.

Make sense?

[Goal Setting Series]Article #3 ~ How to Receive a Life Changing Idea

Last time, I urged you to set goals using Universal principles ~ to go beyond what you know and what you think you can do.

Today, I'm going to show you how to do just that.

The Right Idea is Key

When setting goals it's crucial to start with the right idea. By “right” I mean that incredibly prosperous idea that can take you light years from where you are.

Many times I've sold business with only that. Once, in three months' time, I even helped sell $5 million of a coaching program that wasn't yet created. There wasn't even an outline for it. It was just a great idea.

We created the program after we sold it ~ and it was absolutely phenomenal. I guarantee if you sell $5 million of business, you'll come up with a darn good program!

So how do you get that million-dollar idea that can change your life?

By using fantasy.

An Exercise for Receiving Your Idea

As I said last time, fantasizing alters the frequency of your brain, making it more receptive to expansive ideas in the Universe you might never have considered.

It's a natural process that just happens when you let it, but many people don't allow it.

If you already engage in fantasy, go to the place or do the thing that is most fertile for you.

If you don't know what that is, you might try sitting on a park bench and watching the birds or leaves blowing in the wind. Or you could go to the ocean and watch the waves. Or look at art in a gallery. Many people get their best ideas while taking a shower.

Whatever you choose, be comfortable and let your eyes rest.

You want to invoke the experience of daydreaming, of “spacing out.” Don't “try” to fantasize, just relax and let your mind be free.

If this process doesn't work for you the first time, try it a few more. You might have to prime the pump of your fantasizing ability. Or you might have to just “catch” yourself doing it ~ while in the shower, for instance.

Stay Open

As the ideas start to flow in from the Universe, you might see an image or feel an emotion, or you may engage in a waking dream.

As that starts to happen, gently ask yourself, “What do I want?”

The second something comes to mind, whatever it is, write it down.

Don't judge it. Just record it and let it be.

You may end up with one idea or a few. You may get ideas about your business, relationship, activities you'd like to do.

Don't Denigrate Your Idea

Your brain will likely try to talk you out of your idea, telling you, “It's too big or grandiose. I don't know how to do that. What will my spouse or parents think?”

Just breathe and let that go, and return to your list.

You've just received powerful information from the Universe that could make an enormous difference in your life.

Next time I'll show you what to do with it.
