A Strategy for Growth

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

Iโ€™ve been studying a book you recommended on Universal Law, but my question is about application of those Laws. Iโ€™m an attorney and Iโ€™m looking to grow my business through referrals. How do I apply the Laws when it comes to developing referral relationships?

Neagle Code Answer

Hi!

Great question!

Itโ€™s actually a pretty simple strategyโ€ฆ

GIVE.

When you give you are obeying the Universal Law of Reciprocity.

Do your homework.

Take the time to really understand what your potential partner is currently working on.

Learn what message they are most interested in expanding in the world right now, and approach them with the intention of finding out how you can help.

Then formulate a plan to do so.

One great suggestion may be to send an invitation to your potential partner offering to introduce them to your connections or subscribers via email or interview with an explanation of how they would be of great interest and benefit to your current and past clients.

4-6 weeks later, send a card reiterating how much you appreciated the opportunity to introduce them to your connections or client, and remind them of your offer to help them anytime, if thereโ€™s anything further that they need.

So you see itโ€™s quite simpleโ€ฆ

Give FIRST and build a relationship that will both last and reciprocate.

The ONLY reason I do anything — ever!

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from an individual who wishes to remain anonymous.

Question:

I've heard you mention that people often do things for love, security, and/or self-esteem. I'm a beginning coach and I feel in my heart (and have felt for much of my life) that teaching and sharing information is a large part of who I am. How can I tell if the joy I feel when sharing information comes from pursuing my heart's desire or is it because teachings fulfill some of my self-esteem needs.

Answer:

This is a question every coach, healer or teacher needs to ask themselves.

Hereโ€™s the differenceโ€ฆ

Is the joy youโ€™re feeling coming from the sharing of the information or is the joy you feel coming from the accolades you receive from others for sharing the information?

For example, if you were to teach something and then didnโ€™t receive any positive feedback, would the sharing still be joyful?

Do you feel satisfaction for doing the teaching?

Someone who has a lack in self-esteem needs to get it from others. So they will speak and teach with the subconscious goal of โ€œgettingโ€ from their clients or audience. They are not coming from a place of giving.

Many people have asked me over the years why I love to teach and speak.

I do what I do for the sole goal of expressing the gifts Spirit has given me, and for no other reason.

You shouldnโ€™t be doing what youโ€™re doing for any other reason either.
