Is Your Work Worthy of You?

What is the real trade you make for the work you do?  It's pretty obvious we are trading our time and our talents in exchange for money when we are employed by a company.

But do we ever consider the real trade being made? You might be be saying to yourself, “What else am I trading?” Do you realize every second of every day you spend working is time gone forever? You never get that time back – you have traded the only life you have for it.

Now I realize most of the world has bought in to the idea we need to work and I agree.  It is necessary for people to earn money to maintain the standard of living of their choice.  But do you realize how many people are working just for the money?  In many cases, they don't like what they do and they don't particularly like the people they work with either.

Ask yourself this important question: “If it was not for the money, would I continue to do what I am doing? If your answer is “YES!” then you probably love your work.  But if your answer is “NO” then  you should start to give some serious consideration to what you would love to do.

I believe that our personal work should always bring us great satisfaction.  If you love your work you give the best of yourself and it shows.  You can create a worth while product or service that will truly benefit humanity.  Have you ever noticed how all of the talents human beings possess benefit others?

If you love your work every day becomes an absolute joy.  It's true – you will still have some problems and challenges.  Those are good because those challenges cause us to grow.  Without challenges everything would pretty much stay the same and the world would be a very boring place to live.

Take some time to explore the idea of what you would love to do.  Don't spend one second thinking of why you can't do it – just let yourself begin to dream again.  I believe every person has something special deep inside that they would love to do with their life, and they were either never taught to explore that side of their soul or somebody squashed it in the past.  Maybe the fear of failure has stopped you from pursuing your dream? Maybe the fear of what others would think about your dream has stopped you?  Realize this – you are an incredible person and the very fact that you can dream of doing something is verification you can do it.

You would not be able to conceive of an idea if it were not possible – this is the great secret of success!

You might think to yourself, “How can you say that?  You don't even know me?” You're right – I don't know you, but I know what created you, and you were given UNLIMITED potential.  Because you have such awesome potential, wouldn't it seem a bit more logical the world you choose should be worthy of you?  I think it should.

Many people have had past experiences that have created emotional blocks, which makes it difficult for a person to dream or succeed.  These blocks can be removed so you can achieve greater and greater success.  Your life can (and should be) the wonderful masterpiece it was created to be, however you must believe it can be that way.

Make sure everything you do is worthy of YOU!!

The Laws of Success

Everywhere I go people ask me questions about whether or not it is right for them to ask for more.

“David, is to okay for me to want to be more, do more and have more?”

They also think on some level if things don't work out and what is wanted is not achieved, then there must be some force in the Universe working against them, or the timing is not right for what they want.

I would like to add a bit of perspective from my own experience and the ideas of Raymond Holliwell, author of The Laws of Success.

One of the most difficult concepts for people to grasp is the power that lies within themselves to create.

I recently returned from my ERS seminar in Vegas where I taught people how to literally manifest money.  Each person started with nothing, and by following very specific laws they learned how to create money right in their very hands.

People typically have a difficult time understanding how serious I am about their ability to manifest money, but the outcome is phenomenal. Most attendees become very emotional about what they have learned to do, and they realize their lives have just changed forever.

Holliwell put it this way:

“The principle explains that no desire is felt until the supply is ready to appear.  No mind can be conscious of a need or a desire unless the possibility of its fulfillment exists.”

Do you know how powerful that makes you?

You cannot ask too much of the Law, for it is unlimited and the supply is inexhaustible.

You can get only what you can conceive – what you can understand.  You can only get the equivalent to what you give.

It is critical you study and learn from the right people.  All of your success will come in the form of an opportunity, and you must give something in exchange for each opportunity.  If you step back in fear you lose.  That is the law.

Remember…you have attracted everything and everyone into your life for a purpose, which is to move you into being what you want to be.

Belief, Perception & Reality…

I just had a great conversation with a friend who was telling me about some business associates who have had a complete turn around on their dream.

A few months ago, they were enthusiastic and on fire for their future. Unfortunately, they didn't keep their  mental doors locked and something negative slipped in.

All failure begins this way. People have wonderful hopes for their dreams and goals, and when their circumstances suggest something different, (such as an obstacle or lack of result)  the perceived difference becomes the initial seed of failure.

Being unaware of how this process destroys the dreams of countless people, they fall victim to its seduction.

Take a look at what happens and how this process works:

We all have two parts in our thinking – one is our dream or goal, and the second is the belief that it might not happen. This is where most people start out.

Next, something begins to spark them into moving on the dream, and they take some sort of action for a period of time.

Not having a full understanding of the Laws of Success, they are actually moving in the direction of their dream with a great deal of ignorance. Ignorance is not necessarily a bad thing, as long as a person stays open to what he/she must learn along the way.  The problem is many individuals are not open to growth & change.  They experience a point of failure.

This is the point in their journey where moving forward becomes to painful or fearful, and a person usually chooses to stay safe.  Being unaware of how success works, it is also the point where if a person did move forward, they would begin to see the bigger win they are hoping for.

Your beliefs control your perception of everything in your world, which in turn creates your reality.  If you want to change your reality you must use new information to change your beliefs AND your perception. Until you see things differently, you will continue to makes choices that keep you where you are.  Eventually, you will give up on your dreams.

Hey – in my opinion, if you are not living life on the edge you are taking up too much room.

Have a great week because you deserve it!!

Not enough what?

Money?  people?  prospects?  sales? resources?  time?

Take a second and think about the last time you thought you did not have enough of something…

What was it?  Most people say money and time.

That is what it usually boils down to anyway.

Now we have all heard we live in an abundant universe, and many say they do believe it to be true, BUT then they turn and say they don't have enough.

They begin to justify their statement by claiming, “It's not the right time,”  “I'm not there yet,”  “God just doesn't want me to do or have (fill in the blank)…”

If you talk with these people a year later, most of them will tell you the same sad story all over again.

Why do people choose to live a life of such limitation in such an abundant world?

The truth is they really believe more in the idea of lack and limitation than one of abundance.

They want to experience abundance before they actually do something to change their life.

It doesn't work that way!  If you want a lesson in true abundance just take a look out your window!

If you even begin to contemplate nature and everything else the universe might contain, you have to come to the sobering conclusion that God did not create all of this on a budget!  Of course, considering the above statement would require one to really think, which is a topic for another discussion…

It is not enough to simple read about abundance.  One must begin to experience it, and the best way to have the experience is to continually mix with people who not only think this way – but live this way.

Let me share a secret with you…

You usually don't have to go looking for like-minded people because they are looking for you.  You just don't see them.

Why?

Because people come with opportunities for you, however their opportunity requires that you give what you are afraid to give up.  (Money, time, etc.)

The universe really is trying to give you what you say you want, BUT it can't do it your way.

(After all, your way has taken you as far as you can go).

Your way has walls, but the universe has none. Your way has fear, but the universe has none. Your way is limited, but the universe is not.

You must realize that you cannot get anything without giving something.  I'm not referring to giving in return,
but rather giving FIRST.

Why not start by giving up the things in your life that are currently keeping you where you are?

Money, commitments, relationships, guilt, & memories are just a few things which have control over your thinking.

Begin to let them go, one by one, and you open the door to a whole new way of being and living!

For better or for worse…

Have you ever asked yourself, “What is with this relationship?”

Have ever reached a point in your life where you just wonder if the people you are surrounding yourself with are helping you or hindering you?

Every relationship – good or bad – has it's own potential and they fall into four basic types:

1. Relationships that add.
2. Relationships that subtract.
3. Relationships that multiply.
4. Relationships that divide.

What happens when you become aware that one or more of your relationships is either subtracting or dividing from you? You are left with the option to resist this reality OR you can bring truth to it and simply accept it as “not working.”

So what does this mean for you? Good question…

It means one of three things:

1. Maybe the relationship was just for a season.

You needed to learn something or there may have been a purpose the relationship brought to your life. The dangerous thing to do is to hold onto it when the universe is telling you it's time to let go. If you hold onto this kind of relationship it will pull you down and destroy you. Remember this relationship was only “seasonal,” and if you hold on too long – what was once delightful will become destructive.

2.You are in a relationship where you think you will change the other person.

There is an old saying that “people change but not much,” and this is really true when it comes to the core values of other people. It is really rare that a person will do enough work on themselves to change their value or belief system if it is warranted. If you think you will change a person to fit your needs you are misleading yourself. Only they can want to change, and you can't want it more for them then they want it for themselves.

3.You are in a relationship that holds you in your past.

Some people will absolutely refuse to let go of who you were or what you did in your past. As long as you surround yourself with these people it will prevent you from completing your transformation of what you want to be. Oftentimes, others will attempt to put you on a guilt trip for trying to change. Who do you think you are?” “Are you better than us?” “Are
you a big shot now?”
All of this in an attempt to hold you in the same place where they are.

When the space shuttle takes off, the rocket boosters that propel the shuttle into space burn out and fall off at a certain point. If they didn't, they would destroy the shuttle. Pull it back down to earth.

Some of the people in your life that have been here for a season have been boosters but only for a time – a season – now it's time to move on.

You need to surround yourself with people that have the mentality that you want – not that you have.

Does this have an affect on your business?

Your business is nothing more than an extension of you, so if you are not growing because of toxic relationships, neither is your business.

The question is then…

What are you going to do about it?”

Do you have a mindset for success?

Income Explosion Tip…

When it comes to business under pressure (like deadlines and creating income) there are two types of people.

(SIDE NOTE: Neither are right or wrong, just know which one you are)

Type 1:
The first is a person who is fueled by the pressure. They really step up to the plate and perform at a different level.

Type 2:
The second type totally freezes up and they do nothing.  They can't even seem to think because they are in overload and overwhelm.

(If you are of the second type this idea might not be for you.  But if you are of the first type – like I am – then this tip could earn you a lot of money…)

Here it is:

Go out and create a large need to increase your income!

Now don't send me hate mail because “it just didn't work for me.” If you really want to break the 7-figure mark then you must begin to create a real reason to hit that level of income.  Start by committing yourself to various things financially that would create a need for increased income.

You know what happens? You literally flip your brain onto a higher frequency.  You know the  way to create 7-figures is already here, and if you desire to earn that much you can.  In order for you to reach your goal, you need to actually flip your mind & rise to a higher frequency of thought. Then (and only then) will you begin to attract the thoughts, ideas and opportunities that will bring in the m0ney.

Now listen carefully – if you are the type of person that will NOT step up to that level of performance DO NOT go out and rack up a bunch of debt and then say, “David told me to.”  You are on your own here so use your head.  But for all you Type 1 high performers out there, I suggest you go have fun and create a bundle.

“Just Believe,”

David

Create your status. Fill it with achievement.

Entrepreneurs create their lives differently than the majority of people.

The majority, or the masses, have been taught a different set of beliefs and values based on hard work and incremental achievement.

They also believe that atonement is somehow given to them by other people.

“If I get good grades, then I'll get praised.”
“If I do a good job at work, then I'll get a raise.”

Success minded individuals know their achievement, promotion and income is created by themselves, and it begins with their thinking. Next they fill their lives with all the things that support a “success mindset.”

They surround themselves with like-minded people.

They invest in their skill development and take responsibility for their own personal growth.

They also understand that getting uncomfortable is a PREREQUISITE to all of this and they even learn to become comfortable living out on this edge of life. My mentor used to say, “If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much room.” I happen to agree.

The edge is the creative place to be and keeps a person growing and headed in the right direction.

People who play it safe and think they are going to maintain the status quo are living in ignorance of a very basic law of the universe. The Law says, You are either growing or dying, but nothing remains the same. Everything is in a state growth or death.

Now, ask yourself this question: Are you constantly preparing for your own success? Successful individuals realize that preparing is nothing more than a stalling tactic created by fear. It's unfortunate some people can't seem to get out of the “preparing for success” mindset. You see, once you make a decision to create your own success you move on that decision, everything you require for the manifestation of your dream begins to move to you.

A.L.Hunt put it this way:

1. Decide what you want

2. Decide what you will give up to get it

3. Get on with the work.

Does that seem scary? It should if your goal and your dreams are big enough.

One of my favorite authors (Price Pritchett) explained it like this:

“Quantum leaps jerk you out of your comfort zone. Prepare yourself for a pretty wild ride. You're going to cover unfamiliar terrain and encounter obstacles you've never faced before. It can feel like the safety chain linking you with behavior patterns that worked in the past is being stretched to the limit.

At times you may wonder if the situation is about to spin out of control. The normal reaction is to want to hold on tightly. But you're going to have to learn to let go.

A quantum leap is achieved through release.

So turn loose if you want to jump.

Don't be surprised if you grow uneasy…that's a predictable part of the process. When you take a the quantum leap you ride the situation, but you don't really control it all that much. In fact, the only way you control it is by:

1. Knowing where you are going.

2. Continuing the pursuit

3. Learning from your mistakes.

A quantum leap is an act of faith, exhilarating and possibly scary at the same time. You have to give up a large degree of security and safety; plow through greater amounts of ambiguity and confusion and uncertainty, wrestle with a totally new set of problems, invite failure, and possibly contend with criticism from other people who have been part of your support group in the past.

Make you uncomfortable?

That's a good sign.

If you're experiencing no anxiety or discomfort, the risk you're taking probably isn't worthy of you.

The only risks that aren't a little scary are the ones you've outgrown.

A high comfort level provides solid evidence that you're “playing it safe,” not growing, not really testing your limits at all, and not in the process of a quantum leap.

You might be making gradual progress…that's possible but you're not going for a breakthrough.

Doing this carries you beyond your commonplace, everyday habits and calls for a little more nerve.

So just go into this expecting a touch of anxiety. Uneasiness is a predictable psychological reaction when a quantum leap is underway.

It has been said that if you will do the thing you fear, death of fear is certain.

Courage is not the absence of fear and anxiety, it's proceeding in spite of those feelings.

So press on.”

Are You Playing Ping-Pong or Leap Frog?

How many businesses get stuck in struggle, or fail altogether, because the environment in which they work functions like a game of Ping-Pong?

In Ping-Pong, two players bounce a little ball back and forth over a small net, until one player is unable to return the ball.  This paddling of the ball-back and forth, back and forth-may continue for an extended period of time, but eventually, one of the players will miss. The ball will be dropped.

Many entrepreneurs set up and perpetuate a business environment that closely resembles this game of Ping-Pong. They bounce back and forth between making sales and paying their bills. This cycle goes on and on, until eventually, one side is no longer able to return the ball.

These entrepreneurs desperately want to increase business. But with every attempt to grow via a hard return of the ball, they step further away from the Ping-Pong table. They hope they can adjust or adapt before the ball comes back towards them. They gain perspective away from the table, only to have to quickly return to the baseline to return the ball again.

The only way to break free of this game is to DECIDE not to play. You must simply walk away from the dysfunctional environment you've created.  And you don't have to feel bad about this either, because when you created this environment, you did so in innocent ignorance – you didn't know there was a better way!

Now understand that everyone is blessed, but you must step into your power in order to receive.  The best way to do this in business is to Leap Frog over your own initial start up.  Your initial start up is filled with challenges that are mostly created by you-and only you-so if you learn to focus in on the two most important areas of your new business first, you'll Leap Frog over years of frustration and low profits.

Once you have established your initial product or service that you are bringing to market, your job becomes two fold:

First: Learn to sell to the best of your ability to build a solid customer base.

Then: Closely examine the needs of this base, so that you may develop specialized products and services that compliment your original product, but that serve your customers further. In doing so, your customers will happily repeat the buying process time and time again.

By first focusing on the initial sales and the building of your customer base, you create an environment for yourself to continue to Leap Frog from one level to the next, without getting caught up in the busyness and problems that a slow climb creates.

Another enormous bonus is that you concurrently create the profits you need to expand at whatever rate you like. Your business will continue to grow exponentially if you keep Leap Frogging, instead of working your way through each and every challenge that presents itself.

It's never perfect, so don't expect it to be...

You will make the changes required as need be, but you won't be running back to the table to hit the ball. If you put in place the staff and resources to meet those challenges as they arise, you will reduce your stress level and cut right through to implement streamlined, profitable solutions.

Leap Frogging is a mindset that will allow you to transform just about every area of your life-and Yes!-even your income.  So go ahead and drop the Ping-Pong ball – it's time to make the leap. Jump.
