Stop thinking and just LISTEN

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

I just listened to your most recent training on sales…and it was spot on. I felt like you were talking to me actually. I really struggle with staying present and listening to my prospective clients. I find myself trying to think of more questions while they answer the one I just asked, and in turn, I’m just not listening to them. And if I don’t listen to them, they can probably feel it. And I’m certainly not making their needs a priority. UGH!

What is going on, David?

Neagle Code Answer

I LOVE this question!!!

As I said in the training, if you have issues around:

• sales

• marketing

• money

• business

• asking people for things

then you are not employing the impression of increase because you are communicating a double binding message. That double binding message is a) I want to help you, but b) I’m not confident and I don’t care about you.

And you will lose the sale.
Every. Single. Time.

So, the key here is to get very real with yourself.

What are you afraid of? Are you worried you’re going to say the wrong thing or get stumped?

This is what you need to become aware of because:

Listening is THE KEY in any sales conversation.

There are SO MANY clues people give you in their voice.

A tonal change, a sigh, clearing of the throat…all give you CLUES. All those things mean something. Knowing how to listen allows you to read between the lines, know what to ask next, and to see what’s really true…and what’s not.

If you’re really serious about “fixing” your sales issue, you may want to consider applying for my upcoming program called The Psychology of the Sale. It’s by application only, so I’m not going to waste your time by giving all the details here. If you want to know more, click here to submit a short application.

In the meantime, when you’re in a sales conversation, focus on how you can help THEM.

Breathe and listen. You’ll know what to ask next. Detach from “getting the sale” and then, attach to helping the person on the other line get clear on what their next steps need to be to get what THEY want.

The voices in my head

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

David…what's the deal? About a year ago I transitioned out of a “job” where I was an experienced sales professional. I had NO issue selling my product. It was solid, and I believed in it. Fast forward to now. I'm an independent consultant who can't seem to sell my own services. The voices in my head say, “Who is going to pay for your services? What are you going to say? What if they say no? Who are you going to call?”

I don't get it. I thought I knew how to sell, but now I'm really struggling.

Neagle Code Answer

Hi, and thanks for the great question!

What you are experiencing is not uncommon. In fact, when I first started my business, I experienced the same thing.

I didn't know who to call…or how I was going to pay my mortgage…

It was an incredibly stressful time in my life.

My way through it was to study the Impression of Increase and apply truth to the situation.

And it's what I recommend to you.

It will mute those negative doubtful voices and allow you to see the opportunities that are around you right now.

Here's what I can do to help (because this is more than I can answer in a 400 word blog post)…

Click the graphic below and register for my new free upcoming training where I'll share how I used the Impression of Increase to bring in $20,000 in 24 hours…and here's the thing…I didn't have a list and social media was non-existent.

I guarantee this will support you in turning your situation around FAST.

In the meantime, ask to be shown the exact person who needs you and be ready to offer your services.

Feeling ripped off?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Rebecca B.

Neagle Code Question

Up until about a couple of weeks ago, I was working with a coach. The reason I stopped working with her is that I wasn't bringing in enough from my business to make my monthly payments. So after becoming 30 days past due, we terminated the contract.

Neagle Code Answer

Hi Rebecca,

As long as you stay in anger and blame, you will continue to repeat this pattern…and it will continue to be repeated until you learn the lesson it has to teach you.

Let me explain.

You are the creator of everything you experience in life.

All the good AND
all the bad.

It's easy to see all the gifts and lessons in the good things…and not quite as easy to see the gifts and lessons in all the “not so good” things.

If you can move through the anger and blame, and take responsibility for this, you'll begin to start seeing the lesson.

And the lesson in your situation is simple, as the Laws always are.

Whenever money stops flowing into your life, it's because you are in resistance.

Remember the Universe is completely deductive in nature. This means that if you are in resistance, the Universe can't bring you what you desire…it will reflect that resistance to you.

When you are in surrender and flow, the Universe will in turn respond and what you desire will flow easily to you.

So ask yourself this: During my coaching, what was I resisting?

Were you resisting:

  • being seen?
  • raising your prices?
  • making sales calls?
  • asking for a sale?
  • spending money on marketing?
  • going to places where your clients could be found?

I assure you, if you get really honest with yourself you'll see how you caused the results you experienced.

And the gift in that is that you can now CONSCIOUSLY create a new
(and better) experience.

Resistance is a HUGE barrier…actually one of THE barriers…to success. And it's why I'm going to be teaching a FREE class on this exact topic on February 20th. I'll be going into great detail to help everyone on the call see how they can flip from resistance and struggle to ease and grace.

Comfort zone, Dead zone

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David, and thanks for taking my question!

My problem is that I think I'm too comfortable. I believe I have a deep desire to build my own business, but it seems I stop before I even start. I spend my time “thinking” rather than “doing”. And I think it's important to mention that I don't NEED to bring in money. I do WANT to though…

Neagle Code Answer

Hi!

The truth in your situation is that you just don't want it bad enough.

You're content to stay where you are, and there's nothing really that's creating a sense of urgency for you.

In these instances,
YOU have to create
the sense of urgency.

Let me explain…

Until your burning desire is greater than your need for comfort, nothing will change.

Growth is uncomfortable. Without the discomfort we don't grow. And if you're not growing, it's going to be near impossible to help someone else grow.

Ask yourself:

What in your life is keeping you comfortable?

  • Is it a job you show up to everyday?
  • Is it your savings account?
  • Is it your safe group of people around you?

What specifically do you fall back on as that safety net?

In order for you to move past this, you have to identify that safety net and burn it.

Then you have to fall deeply, madly and 100% in love with your desires.

You see, the juice of life lies beyond your comfort zone…

As we grow and expand, we can then enrich the lives of others.

Borrowing to manifest money…is that allowed?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hey David!

First off thank you for everything you are doing, your insights are helping me greatly and knowing where you came from encourages me.

You have said that we have the ability to bring in the amount of money to do what we need and want to do through creating a sense of urgency. When you say “bringing in the money,” do you consider borrowing as a part of “manifesting money”? I just want to be clear on what options you are referring to so I don't shut out any opportunities based on old beliefs.

Thank you for your help.

God Bless.

Neagle Code Answer

Hi, and thanks for the great question!

The simple answer to your question is …yes.

Let me explain.

To manifest means to become aware of something that already exists.

Really take a moment to think about this…

When you have a desire, and it’s coupled with a sense of urgency, the Law of Polarity states that the way to fulfill that desire must also be present and possible.

Which means, that the money you need for that desire is also present, you just may not be aware that it’s already here…meaning you may not “see” it.

It may be hiding behind an opportunity, tucked away in your savings account, or with someone else.

Borrowing is a perfectly acceptable way to “bring in” money. Obviously I would advocate that you abide by the payment terms of what you’ve borrowed.

Remember, money does not come from people, it comes from Spirit THROUGH people.

If the money is already here, ask yourself what you are resisting being, doing or having that is preventing you from seeing it.

Is debt getting you down?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David,

I really, really desire a new car. But I also have credit card debt that I need to pay off. I hear your voice in my head telling me to act on my desire, but I also have a voice in my head telling me to pay off my debt FIRST. Am I thinking about this inaccurately?

Neagle Code Answer

Great question!

I think the real question here isn’t actually about where to spend your money; it’s a question of mindset.

You see, the lower and middle class mindset is steeped in the word “OR”.

They ask, “Should I do this OR should I do that?”

They see limitation and lack.

The wealthy think in terms of “AND”.

They ask:

“What would need to happen for me to do this AND that?”

OR

“What would I need to do differently so that I could have this AND that?”

They see possibility and abundance.

I want to encourage you to think like the wealthy.

What are you resisting doing or being that would allow you to pay off your debts AND purchase the car?

TRUTH: You wouldn’t have the desire to do both
if the opportunity to make the money wasn’t also here.

That’s the question you must ask if you wish for your financial situation to change.

When clients back out…

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

After studying your sales strategy, I can say that I can now make a fair number of sales. HOWEVER, the problem I’m experiencing now is that I can’t seem to KEEP the sale! In the past month four people have contacted me 3-4 days after I’ve sold them, and told me that they needed to back out.

What am I doing wrong???

Thanks!!

Neagle Code Answer

Great question.

If you’re getting people who are changing their mind after an initial sale, it means that you may be missing a key component in your sales conversation.

One of the most overlooked parts of a sales conversation  actually happens AFTER the sale has been made.

Once the sale has been made and you have received a deposit, it is crucial for you to continue the conversation by telling them what to expect.

Example:

“You know, you’ve just made a big decision to invest in yourself and grow. And we know that any time your ego feels threatened you will create circumstances in your life to get you to change your mind or to stop moving forward. So let me ask you something. What’s going to cause you to change your mind?

This accomplishes two things.

1) It lets them know what to expect so if they start to create chaos, they can quickly identify it for what it really is.

2) If they decide to change their mind, you can re-engage them using their own words.

Example:

“When we spoke a couple of days ago, you said that overwhelm can derail you. Now you’re telling me that you are overwhelmed and can’t move forward. Isn’t this interesting? Your ego is playing a mind trick on you, so let’s go back to the truth…. (and then you re-engage them in the conversation and help them see what’s REALLY going on).

If you end your conversations using this technique, you’ll find that your new clients will feel well-informed and will be more likely to stick with their initial commitment.

Help! I’ve been plagued by low sales for months

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

I have been plagued by the same challenge for several months now…low sales. It’s to the point where I need to start cutting back on my spending, which feels constricting and based in lack.

The biggest problem: I can’t figure out how to overcome this challenge, and it is SO frustrating…what is going on?

Thanks so much!

Neagle Code Answer

Hi, and thanks for your question.

First let’s look at what challenges in our lives and businesses REALLY are…

1) They are necessary for growth.
2) They hold hidden lessons that we need to learn about ourselves.
3) They are neither good or bad…they just “are”.

Webster’s Dictionary defines a challenge as: a stimulating task or problem.

But here’s what I want you to see:

You are experiencing this challenge because there is something that you need to learn about yourself, and the challenge keeps recurring because you are resisting learning what the challenge itself is trying to get you to see.

Each challenge we are faced with has a hidden message…

a hidden lesson that we need to learn
in order to become the person we
need to become to fulfill our purpose.

If you find yourself with the same challenge over and over, you need to take a deep look into what you may be resisting hearing, seeing, doing or being, that is keeping that challenge in your life.

In this instance, you may be resisting:

• the sales conversation
• reaching out to prospects
• being seen
• rejection

The list could go on.

Look deep into your challenge to identify what you may be resisting and reach out for help if you still can’t identify the resistance.

Stuck and frustrated. How do I break this glass ceiling?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

I’m so frustrated, and I’m not sure what to do to solve my problem. I seem to be stuck under a great glass income ceiling. Every time I have a great month and make sales, the following months decline, and my yearly income always stays the same (3rd year in a row). I feel like I’m “doing” everything I can to grow my income, and yet at the end of the 3rd quarter this year, here I am AGAIN. I want to scream!

Any suggestions for me?

Thanks!

Neagle Code Answer

What a fantastic question!

First, I want you to understand that sometimes your income has less to do with what you’re “doing” and more to do with what you believe.

Let me explain.

Maxwell Maltz, in his book Psycho-Cybernetics, teaches that all people have an internal “set point,” which he calls a cybernetic mechanism.

A cybernetic mechanism is a mechanism in both man and machines that determines and measures the deviation between a set point and a goal.

In fact, we have these set points everywhere in our lives. Think about your weight, your finances, and your environment.

What you may be experiencing is your own cybernetic mechanism or “set point” in regards to your yearly income.

Researchers have found that our cybernetic mechanisms are set based on our past programming. This means our ability to hit our goals, is actually based on beliefs that were passed on to us by others.

The only solution is to really become aware of what those hidden beliefs are, and then consciously begin to change and re-program them.

If you feel like you’re constantly trying to pedal up-hill, chances are that’s because your cybernetic mechanism is kicking in and your sub-conscious beliefs are working against you.

Where to focus when the unexpected sets you back

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

I'm beginning to feel a bit jaded about my work… it seems like regardless of how hard I try, I always only have “enough.”

I really desire more for my life but it seems like every time I make some traction, I also have an unexpected expense (i.e. owing more in taxes, car trouble, family emergency, etc.), and then the next month I make less, and I’m back where I started. Is this a wealth ceiling problem? Can you help me see what’s going on here?

Neagle Code Answer

Hi, and thanks so much for your question!

Based on your question, I do not believe you have a “wealth ceiling” problem.

Looks to me like you may have a focus problem.

Here’s the truth:

You’ll ALWAYS have
unexpected expenses.

What I’m wondering is:

What were you focused on as those
unexpected expenses began to pile up?

As the car trouble happened, were you focused on the car trouble or were you focused on hitting your monthly financial goal?

When you experienced a family emergency, were you focused on the emergency or on hitting your financial goal?

The truth is that those unexpected expenses were just distractions created by your sub-conscious mind to keep you from growing.

The key to solving this roller coaster problem is to continually stay focused on:

1)  What you want

      and

2)  What actions will take you closer to what you want

There will always be unexpected expenses, so set up an “unexpected expenses” bank account, and funnel a percentage of your monthly income into that account. That way, when an expense pops up, you’re “expecting” it and can easily pay for it without it being a distraction.

This will allow you to keep your focus on your goal.
