I Struggle to Post

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from Amanda.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

I own a brick and mortar business (a bakery), and I know I need to increase my online presence. I’ve been told by many marketers that I need to post about my store, my clients, and my product, but I REALLY struggle with it…actually I think I just plain resist doing it.

Every time I have an idea to post something public, this voice in my head tells me I’m bragging and everyone will think I’m full of myself. WTF?

Neagle Code Answer

Hi Amanda!

I have a VERY important question to ask you…and I REALLY want you to think about it.

Whose voice is telling you that you’re bragging and people will think you’re full of yourself?

And here’s the thing… it’s NOT your voice…and it’s NOT Spirit’s voice… so then, whose voice is it?

Here’s the thing… someone is renting space in your brain, and they are NOT supporting your goals and dreams.

Because the truth is, God does not speak to you through a spirit of fear, but through love, courage and a sound mind.

What does this mean?

It means that you are allowing someone else to control the growth of your business and keep you small.

It means you’re allowing someone else to steal your purpose, passion and confidence.

And

It means that until you get them out of your head, visibility is going to cause quite the tug of war in your mind.

Do this…

First, the next time you hear that voice, I want you to think “NEXT!” and visualize yourself turning your back on that voice. Then complete the post.

Second, CLICK HERE and let me help you come out of hiding and stand confidently in who you are and the product you provide. It sounds like it’s TIME!

How do I Create Credibility for Myself?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

How do I create credibility for myself and be seen as an expert?

Thank You!

Neagle Code Answer

Thank you for your question. Many people get stuck right here, thinking they have to build credibility, secure testimonials and build a website before they can ever begin.

So, here’s the real question — are the people who need you finding you? And when they do, do they see you as an expert or just a friendly peer?

By posturing and positioning your actions, thinking, and energy all to match your expertise, people will see you in that way and want to buy your services.

How do you position yourself as an expert and get your message out?

• Leveraging other experts

– Guest Interviews on Virtual Summits

• Creating amazing content and giving it away through:

But here’s another important question…

Are you confident
in your ability to deliver?

You don’t need to tell prospects how much you know or about your raving testimonials or how wonderful your product or service is.

Your confidence in your ability to help them gets transferred TO them, and then they know you can help them.

It’s an example of The Impression of Increase in action.

You don’t sell people… people sell themselves when they realize what they need to do to solve their problem; which ultimately results in them purchasing your expertise to help solve it!

I can’t ask for money

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

I've lived the Law of Attraction for years now and all but one part of my life “clicks.” My bills are paid. My new desires are met. I love what I do and find that incoming jobs come to me at the perfect time. I'm so happy I could bust, except for this one thing.

I find it gut-wrenching to charge for my work. When I invoice, I rarely charge what the work was worth. I am excellent at what I do, as my clients will attest. I have good self-esteem. I just prefer to do what I love and let the Universe provide.

I'd like to step up my income and move to the next level, which will mean charging what my quality of work is worth. Can you help?

Neagle Code Answer

I love this question…

I need to tell you something, and I’m typing it with nothing but love.

You don’t have a good self-esteem.

If you did, you wouldn’t be afraid of the rejection you would have to deal with when you begin to charge what you’re worth.

Above you said that you’re excellent at what you do, and that your clients will attest to it. So tell me, if this is the case, why would you find it gut-wrenching to charge for your work?

You prefer to do what you love and let the Universe provide because you are afraid of what will need to happen for you to grow. You would need to stand in your power, be confident and not be afraid of hearing the word, “no”.

And let me tell you something, the Universe doesn’t “provide” anything. You create it. And right now you are creating just enough to get by.

You see Spirit doesn’t speak to you through fear, therefore, it’s not Spirit that’s making it gut-wrenching to charge for your services.

It’s your ego.

Your ego knows that you are afraid of rejection and judgment from others, and so it uses that belief to stop you from growing.

Charging what you’re worth means that you would need to grow into being that person, and that’s something your ego DOES NOT want you to do because it views any kind of growth as a risk.

So, what are the services you offer worth?

Pick a number.

Can you see yourself feeling good about asking for that price for what you offer?

Write it down and practice saying it out loud. Make it feel real to you.

THEN

In your next sales conversation ask for that price.

It’s the only way to push through that gut-wrenching fear.

Should I have a business card?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David,

I know this may sound like a strange question, but how important do you think business cards and websites are? I’m trying to decide if should pour a significant amount of money into those things or if they are really just not necessary. I’d appreciate your opinion before making that decision.

Thank you for your time!

Neagle Code Answer

Hi and thanks for your question!

You know, I NEVER carry business cards and I tell all my students to do the same.

When networking, if someone asks for your card, tell them that you don’t carry cards, but you’d be happy to take one of theirs and follow up with them. Take their card and write notes on the back so you can remember the conversation you had.

That way YOU are in control of the follow up.

Several years ago my website was down for almost a full year, and my company GREW!

Actually it was the best year I had ever had.

Most marketers will tell you that you MUST have a website. I disagree.

NOTHING can take the place of a personalized person-to-person approach to sales.

In fact, in this market, it’s been the single most IMPORTANT thing my company has done.

Don’t get me wrong, a website has a purpose, but if your most pressing need is sales and income, a website is not going to get you closer to that goal. Your ability to reach out to someone, have an effective conversation, and close a sale WILL.

My advice would be to prioritize.

First, bring in the sales through one on one conversations, and when you have the capital, build a website that focuses on collecting opt-ins to build your marketing list.

Calendar and Cash Flow

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David!

How do you find the time to do everything that needs to be done to actually make more money?

Thanks so much!

Neagle Code Answer

Hi and thanks for the fantastic question!

I learned a long time ago that we can’t manage time…we must manage activities.

You see work will always fill the time you allot for it. This is why one of the first things I teach my VIP Clients is the fine art of calendaring.

Let me explain… as entrepreneurs, there are so many things that can bombard us on a daily basis. Whether it’s making sales calls, handling client satisfaction, fulfilling orders or programs, marketing planning or dealing with our personal lives, there is ALWAYS something to fill our time.

One of the key strategies to ensuring money-making activities get done is to schedule those activities every day, and

STICK TO
YOUR SCHEDULE.

Start with calendaring the “non-negotiable” items first. These items can be up-coming travel, presentations, and other activities that are firm.

Next schedule all your money-making activities. These should include sales calls, strategy and launches.

From there, schedule everything else.

In doing this you may even come to see that you actually have more time than you need or you may see opportunities to hire people to help you with the things you do not specifically need to be doing.

Once you have your schedule in place, you must discipline yourself to stick to it!

Sometimes this is the most difficult step, and if you find yourself straying from your calendar, take a moment to re-align yourself and course correct.

What got me “unstuck”

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David,

I have a goal that I’m excited about. I can see it in my mind, but when I begin to take action, or even think about taking action, I go into doubt. What is this and how can I push past this limiting belief?

THANKS!!

Neagle Code Answer

Great question!

Often when we want to achieve a goal, we focus on the wrong thing.

We focus on the “how” — “How am I going to do it?” — instead of doing the work required to achieve the actual thing.

We look for all the reasons why we can’t do it. We ask questions that don’t help us or move us forward. Or we become focused on what we’re going to “get.”

What we don’t realize is that part of what is controlling our thinking is the idea that, I can’t do it.

This belief has complete dominance over our thinking. It’s our subconscious mind’s way of keeping us stuck, asking questions that aren’t helpful, and never reaching the goal.

The idea itself causes us to focus on the wrong things.

It makes us psychologically look for an answer that doesn’t exist. The idea “I can’t do it” holds us back in paralysis mode…where we ask questions that actually keep us stuck (questions such as, “How do I do it?”)

Years ago when I got sucked through a dam, I was hanging from a tree branch, reflecting on my life.

In that moment, I realized I’d been doing exactly that — I had been letting the idea of “I can’t do it” control my thinking and my life. It ruled nearly everything I did (and didn’t do).

At that point, I didn’t even want much. I just wanted to make enough money to pay my bills and not live in a bad neighborhood.

But part of me believed I couldn’t do any of that. Part of me believed I couldn’t succeed or reach my goal.

I kept looking for an answer that didn’t exist. I thought I needed “something else” in order to make more money…when really, I needed to change my belief about myself.

Begin thinking about how you CAN…make a list…be creative…and open yourself to see opportunities that are around you right now!

When you get a surprise tax bill…

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David,

I’m a consultant and have been in business for about 5 years, and have steadily grown (at an admittedly slow pace). I guess you could say my growth has been incremental rather than a quantum leap.

Well this year I messed up, and I have been “slapped” with a 5-figure tax bill, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I was a little freaked out about how I’m going to pay my taxes and my own expenses.

Any suggestions on how to become aware of how to create a pretty big influx of cash quickly?

Neagle Code Answer

You know…I’ve had this question several times in the last couple of months, and there IS a solution!

When I was new in business I too experienced a similar situation, and needed to create a pretty big cash injection in a REALLY short time frame.

Here’s what you need to remember:

Based on the Law of Polarity, if you have a definite need, then the way to satisfy that need must also be present.

So the first thing you need to understand is that your situation is not without a solution. In fact, the solution is most likely very close to you.

From an energetic perspective you must DEMAND that the solution be shown to you. This may seem crazy, but when I need to see a solution, I will stomp around my office and demand at the top of my lungs to be shown the opportunity needed to solve my problem.

It MUST be there.

Second, you need to remain open to opportunity, and let me tell you, the opportunity to solve your problem may not seem appealing to you. In fact it may require that you re-examine something or do something you’ve been resisting for quite some time.

In other words, the solution will most likely be uncomfortable.

Once the opportunity is identified, you’ll need to sell. Whether you’re selling your services or you’re selling someone else on an idea or solution, you’ll need to influence someone to do something.

Sounds simple, I know…and it is if you’re armed with the right tool, which is why on Tuesday, I’ll be hosting a FREE training titled: 6-Figure Sales Secret. During this training I’ll actually share my experience in creating the solution to the very same problem you’re looking to solve…HOW to create a large cash injection in a short amount of time. The Fear of Success is a Smoke Screen

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David,

Can you please tell me how to get over the fear of success? I believe it’s what’s continually stopping me from hitting my goals!

Thank you so much!

Neagle Code Answer

Hi, and thanks for your question!

The truth is that no one is actually afraid of success. You fail every day.

That’s a false belief created by our ego.

If you were afraid of success, you’d never put your pants on in the morning because even putting your pants on is a success.

In reality, what people ARE afraid of is:

1) The fear of what they believe they will have to sacrifice to be successful. This is mainly true in regard to relationships. Are you afraid someone will leave?

2) The fear of what people will think if they were successful or wealthy. How would your family respond if you stood up and told them you decided to be insanely wealthy?

3) The fear of what people will think if they fail.

These are the top 3, but of course there are many other beliefs that keep us bound in chains and constantly striving for success yet never achieving it.

So you are correct.

You are sabotaging
your success.

Universal truth states that we create everything; all the good and bad, all the successes and all the failures.

So you need to get very clear on how never achieving the success you want keeps you safe.

I know you’re thinking, “No David, not having the success keeps me feeling unsafe, why would I not want success?”

And I would answer that you have to consider what belief is renting space in your brain, because if you wanted success as much as you wanted air to breath, you would have it.

How to Choose a Goal You’ll Actually Hit

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

I’ve set money goals many times and have never hit them. How do I set a money goal I’ll actually hit?

Neagle Code Answer

GREAT question!!

Think about the amount of money you want to earn in your life right now. Go ahead, take a minute to think it over.

For this exercise, I don’t want you to just pull a number out of thin air like “a billion dollars” or something. The number has to mean something to you personally. It has to be relevant to your daily life, your purpose, or what you want your lifestyle to be.

In order to make the money you want, you must know WHY you want that specific number. This is key.

It cannot be arbitrary or random. Nor can it be based on a vague fantasy. The number has to be specific. It has to have meaning.

It cannot be
based in fear.

What’s your number? How much money do you want to make?

Don’t say something like, “Oh, I want to make $500 million a year, so that I never have to worry about money again. Then I could go sit on a beach and drink piña coladas for the rest of my life.” That’s based in fear, not true desire.

Your reason for wanting your number has to be practical, something that can be applied to your life right now.

For example, maybe you want to live a certain lifestyle that requires a lot of money. Maybe you want to help a group of people, give money to charity, feed kids in Africa…build your business to a certain level…buy an amazing house, car, or fly a private jet. All of that requires money. How much is required? And why do you want those particular things?

When you have a real reason behind the amount of money you want to make…you have more motivation for making it happen. (Then you’re not “bullshitting” yourself.)

You can choose to focus on a monthly number, or an annual number, whichever feels best for you. I like to help people think about monthly incomes. Then you can look at the actions you need to take in order to earn that amount each month.

When is debt ok?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Is it ok to go into debt to build your business and invest in business growth strategies?

Neagle Code Answer

Hi and thanks for your question.

This question is the perfect example of my teachings on using debt as a tool.

I truly believe that the best use of debt is in the investment in your own growth, whether it’s personal, spiritual or business.

If you talk to any successful business owner you will see that they have used debt to propel their business.

However, there are parameters around using debt to grow your business.

First, before considering taking out a loan, you MUST have a plan. You must have an actionable strategy with clear-cut goals and benchmarks or be investing in a program that’s going to give you that clear-cut plan.

Second, you must be WILLING do what it takes to get a return on investment. This means you have to take action on your plan, and allow nothing to stop you.

A plan and goals are only as good as the paper they are written on.

You must be WILLING
to take action
.

I see entrepreneurs EVERYDAY who spend money on building their business or getting the information they need to build their business, but they never take the action they need to take to grow, and life becomes very hard.

The debt piles up and stress, worry, fear and doubt take hold.

Suddenly they find themselves wondering what happened and why things aren’t working and why things are so hard.

You see…success is EASY if you are willing.
