[Fast Cash Formula Series] Article #14 ~ Why You Don’t Have It YET

Over the past several weeks, I’ve given you all the steps you need to achieve your goal. (If you missed any of those steps, you can find them here.)

If success were only about taking the steps, we’d be done with this series, and you would be near your goal. I know that some of you are well on your way, and that’s great. The rest? Your subconscious is likely at work, keeping you where you are.

In the next couple of articles, I’m going to show you two of the subconscious’s favorite tactics. This first one you’ve likely been experiencing all your life.

The Magic Pill
In order to get what we’ve never had before, we have to change. Those changes may be in our self-perception, money attitudes, beliefs, actions and so on.

The trouble is our subconscious mind doesn’t want us to change, and we don’t really want to change either. Change requires uncertainty, vulnerability and discomfort.

So when we want something more from our lives, we tend to look for the magic pill, the magic formula, the magic system that will give it to us without our having to break a sweat.

How many programs are sitting on your shelf or in your computer unutilized? How much money have you spent chasing the next great thing?

Now, don’t get me wrong. There are absolutely phenomenal programs out there that could take your business to places you could only imagine. But those programs won’t work for you until you grow into them. It’s that plain and simple. They won’t.

What happens is, we buy one of those programs and the second we understand that we have to make a change, we stop. We put it away and say, “It didn’t work. It wasn’t the right thing for me. I’m looking for something different.”

We perpetually get on the train of looking for something different, never understanding that the external change we want actually has to come from within.

Get Off the Train
Your money, your goal is waiting for you behind that change you don’t want to make, that growth your subconscious doesn’t want you to have.

But you have the power to choose. And you can exercise that power.

Get off the train and recommit to the opportunity you identified during this series. Pursue it all the way to its conclusion, making the changes that are required and growing into your goal as you go.

If you do that, you will collect your money. The Law of Polarity says it is so.

But more importantly, you will grow. You will become the person who has that thing you want. So rather than just having a million dollars, you will be a millionaire. You won’t just have a brand-new business, you will be a business owner.

That change in you is what you really want. Don’t avoid it. Don’t run away from it.

Embrace it. Let it guide you to become the person you know in your heart you are meant to be.

Call me a hypocrite?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions
for Life”
comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hello David,

I started integrating personal growth coaching in my web development business for my current clients. Since then my business partner calls me a hypocrite and I am starting to feel like I am since I stumble and fail numerous times. I feel like I am not practicing what I preach. Should I still continue guiding people when I can’t even guide myself 100% of the time?

Neagle Code Answer

Thank you for this great question.

First of all, I applaud you for taking action towards creating something that sounds like you really desire in your business.

Creating a business requires personal growth in order to truly be successful. Each area of our lives has an impact on our business. The way we do something is often the way we do everything in life. Therefore, supporting your clients with personal growth could be a great service for them.

To teach something well, you must have experienced it yourself. In order for you to be in integrity, you must practice and believe in what you are teaching your clients.

When it comes to other people, the truth is that no one can ever say anything to you that you don’t already say to yourself in some way. Subconsciously, you may not fully believe in yourself, which is why your business partner has been calling it out.

Be gentle with yourself. You don’t have to be perfect.

If you were perfect all the time, you wouldn’t grow.

Reframe every opportunity that you perceive as a “failure” as a golden opportunity to learn something new.

The more you learn and grow from all of your own experiences, the more you will be able to serve your clients because you will have gone through it and come out on the other side.

When you are in a growing experience, ask yourself: “Is there something I don’t understand about this situation? Why did I create this? How is this serving me? What can I learn from this experience?”

Keep moving forward and start believing in yourself. Look at your life as a classroom for your own growth that you can then use to teach from.

How do I change my biz model?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions
for Life”
comes from Erin.

Neagle Code Question

First and foremost David, I want to thank you for being an invaluable source of knowledge for me. As a fitness nutrition coach, I work with clients within a certain timeline (typically 12 weeks). In most cases, I feel that the people I work with have just begun to make lasting lifestyle changes as the 12 weeks come to an end and I have so much more to offer.

How can I change my model of service to continue to meet the individual needs of my clients? Do I create another package and have them sign up? How about a monthly fee?

Thanks so much!

Neagle Code Answer

You are very welcome Erin. I am happy that my teachings are of value to you.

Thank you for asking the question! If I'm reading this correctly, you are currently offering one package and you are asking how to expand your services so that your clients have a next step to reinforce their learning and not lose the momentum of the progress that they have made and keep growing, as well as grow your business.

There are a number of ways that you can do this.

• Add a one-on-one continuation package to individually get them to the next level of results (maybe intermediate or gold or platinum packages)

• Charge a monthly fee to continue the 12-week program

• Start a membership for a monthly fee for group programs (maybe one for each level of success they've reached)

• Create virtual programs around individual problem areas and sell them as an up-sell

Joint Venture with Yoga or Fitness studios to expand your reach

• Offer cooking classes or group walks or runs to build your community

The ways to do this are only limited by your imagination.

Know what your market wants.

Know what you enjoy doing – how you want to work with your clients and how you can best serve them.

And, know what you are willing to do as well as what you are not willing to do.

But remember…

It all starts with a decision.

Once you make the decision to create something new, you will become aware of the opportunities.

[Fast Cash Formula Series] Article #13 ~ How To Seize Opportunity

So far in this series, we have taken these three steps:

Step 1. Identify your “need,” the amount to the penny of your monthly bills.
Your need is a snapshot of where you are. In order to get where you want to go, you have to start where you are. If you’re already meeting your need every month, identify what you want, your financial goal.

Step 2. Determine why you need it.
You created the situation or circumstances in your life that you need that money for. Taking responsibility for those situations can lead you to powerful life changes.

Step 3. Become aware of the right opportunity to get what you need or want.
Opportunities are all around you. One or two will lead you to your goal, but others will not. Over the past several weeks, I helped you determine the best opportunity for you. (If you missed any articles in this series, you can find them here.)

As I’ve said, the right opportunity + action = success. This leads us to Step 4, which is:

Step 4. Take action on the opportunity.

Once you’ve determined the right opportunity, step into it completely and see it all the way through to its conclusion.

You probably won’t know exactly how or under which circumstances the opportunity will bring you what you want, and this is where people falter. Before they step into the opportunity, they want to know what’s going to happen. What will be required of them? But it’s just not possible to know that.

In order to achieve something you’ve never had before, you have to grow, you have to face some challenges and you have to change. You couldn’t possibly know in advance what those changes will be. Trying to imagine and control those future changes will only hold you back because that creates doubt, fear, and anxiety. Before you know it, you’re not doing anything but sitting around thinking about what you know you should be doing.

You need to step into the opportunity, with faith, trusting the Law of Polarity, which states that the money you need is around you right now. You did the footwork, as I showed you to do, to find that perfect opportunity for you, so now you just have to trust the universe and yourself.

Expect Success

When you step into the opportunity, expect success.

Expecting success actually changes your actions. You’re willing to do much more than if you were harboring doubt. Therefore, your expectation of success actually helps to create it. For instance, if you expect your teleseminar to fill, you’ll keep working up to the very last minute. You won’t give up, saying, “I guess it wasn’t meant to be.”

Instead, you’ll say, “My teleseminar is filling. I know it is. I’m going to keep at it until it does.”

And guess what happens? You brim with ideas and actions, the universe starts to help you and your teleseminar fills because failure was never an option.

As I’ve said, people don’t fail, they quit.

When you step out in faith, expecting success, and pursue your opportunity all the way to its conclusion, you will collect the money you need.

It will be there. That’s the promise of the Law of Polarity. Like gravity it absolutely never fails.

What if my prospect is in money fear?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions
for Life”
comes from Courtney Ann

Neagle Code Question

What do you do after you share a high value program with a client who really wants it but is concerned about how to make the financial investment happen? How should I respond and how many times do you recommend I follow up with them?

Neagle Code Answer

Thank you for asking the question, Courtney Ann!

Even though the client says they want the program, their fear, doubt and worry is stronger than their desire for the result.

I’d recommend asking the client questions to understand exactly where their fear is coming from so that they can see why they are experiencing what they are experiencing.

It could be that their concern is more based on the reactions of others rather than on their own concerns but until you get to the root of the problem, you cannot move forward.

Then, if they really do need help finding the money, give them a homework assignment to find the money for the payment.

Have them make a list of 30 ways they could bring in the money and instruct them to email the list to you. That will show you that they are serious, and you can direct them to start tackling the items on their list until they have enough for the payment.

This way THEY are following up with you and you're not trying to track down people who are not serious about working with you.

This also empowers them to take action immediately, and allows you to make sure they are someone you’d like to work with.

Why I don’t talk about branding…

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions
for Life”
comes from Madeline T.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David.

I notice you don't spend a lot of time talking about the importance of branding. Yet, when I go to events, there's always someone telling me that branding is REALLY important. I'm currently in the beginning stages of my own business, and haven't yet made money. Should branding be something I invest in prior to really making money?

Neagle Code Answer

Good question!

The most important thing you need to know, especially at the beginning stages of a new business startup, is that the only thing that REALLY moves money is sales.

The best marketing strategy for any business startup is identifying your target market, finding opportunities to get in front of them and having sales conversations that identify you as the expert and someone who can help solve a specific problem.

Many businesses make the mistake of investing in branding upfront without any clear idea or direction of their market because they haven’t sold to anyone yet. They think this is the driving force behind making sales.

Initially you are the best marketing tool for your business. By unearthing who wants to buy and by you engaging in sales conversations, you will activate buyers.

After you have gained some successful momentum in sales, you will get clear about, “This is what I am. This is why I exist. If you like me, you can buy me, support me, and recommend me to your friends.” That is the time to start thinking and investing in branding.

A good marketing campaign can push out your message, and a good brand identity can pull them in, but the bottom line is:

Sales is the most important activity behind any successful business, and it is often the most overlooked.

How do I find my real purpose?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions
for Life”
comes from Amanda.

Neagle Code Question

I understand about purpose, do what you love and the money will follow but I don't have a clue what I should be doing. How do I find my purpose?

Neagle Code Answer

Amanda, thank you for the question.

Finding your purpose comes from knowing who you truly are and what you desire. Your purpose is already within you and it isn’t something you look for outside yourself.

I’m sure you’ve heard my story about my boating accident where I almost died after being sucked into a dam. When I was hanging onto a tree branch for dear life, I made a promise to God that I would figure out why I hadn’t been able to do the things that I knew I should have been doing. And then do them.

Right after the accident, nothing happened. God didn’t tell me what to do. After much frustration, I realized God wasn’t going to tell me what to do. I had to make that decision myself. I started by asking myself, “What am I going to do with the rest of my life?”

At first I didn’t know the answer. I kept asking myself the question and then answers began to come forward. The first three answers I received and acted upon were to:

1. Change my attitude

2. Treat everyone with total respect

3. Do everything to the best of my ability.

Now, this didn’t immediately give me the answer to my life purpose. It did help me to change and to raise my awareness. Whenever we raise our awareness, we discover more of who we truly are. The more we know who we truly are, the more answers we’re given about our unique gifts we have to share with the world.

The key here, Amanda, is to continue to ask yourself conscious questions to raise your awareness of who you are. Everyday, ask yourself, “What am I going to do with the rest of my life?” and “What do I really want?”

Just as I did and continue to do, follow the answers you are given as if they were bread crumbs creating a path and you will find yourself living your “purpose.”

[Fast Cash Formula Series] Article #12 ~ Choose the “Right” Opportunity For You

Numerous opportunities are around us at any given moment. We’re drawn to a particular seminar or we want to start teaching; we’re offered a new job or we consider going back to school.

One or two of these opportunities will take us closer to our goal, but others will not be beneficial. Our subconscious can disguise our opportunities ~ making them seem fortunate when they’re not or making them seem unfortunate when they’re the perfect one for you.

Remember my story about driving the fuel truck? That opportunity years ago was around me for two years while I worked on the loading dock, but rather than seeing it as an opportunity, I used to say, “Why would anyone want to drive a bomb on wheels?”

And, yet, it was the right opportunity for me because, through it, I doubled my income while conquering the fear of fire that had been programmed in me at a very young age.

Seeing the true nature of your opportunities is crucial. That’s why, last time, I gave you an exercise to help you do just that. Today, I’m going to show you how to choose the right opportunity, the one that will take you to your goal.

You’ll need your answers to the last exercise, so here it is again:

Exercise:

Unmask Your Opportunities

Step 1. Write down your “need,” the amount to the penny of your monthly bills. If you are meeting your need every month, write down what you want, your financial goal.

Step 2. Make a list of every opportunity that comes to mind that could help you meet your need or want. No matter how far-fetched or unappealing or scary the idea may seem, write it down.

Step 3. Every opportunity has at least one challenge associated with it ~ something that makes you think the opportunity would be difficult or impossible to pull off. The most common challenges are not enough money or time, issues with a loved one or prior commitments. Look at your list and write down the challenges that arise as you think about each opportunity.

Step 4. Each challenge you wrote down is another opportunity in disguise. It’s an opportunity for you to overcome that challenge and grow. Look at your list of challenges and imagine the opportunities they are presenting for you.

The Right Opportunity Is Key

The right opportunity + action = success. Every time, without fail. Since you may still have a few viable options on your list, to help you narrow the field to the best one, run each of your opportunities through the following four questions and only these four questions.

Question 1. Is this opportunity something I want to be, do or have?

If your answer is “yes” move on to Question 2.

If you answered no, move on to your next opportunity. However, to make sure that you’re seeing the true nature of your opportunity, look at your list of disguised opportunities in the challenges that you associated with this opportunity in Step 4 above. Is one or more of those disguised opportunities something you want do, be or have? If you answered no to the opportunity, but yes to the disguised opportunity, move on to Question 2.

For instance, if I answered this question with, “Hell no, I don’t want to drive a bomb on wheels,” I would then ask myself if I wanted to conquer my fear of fire while doubling my income. Of course, my answer would be yes, so I would move on to Question 2.

Question 2. Will the opportunity take me closer to my goal?

Be really honest. If your need is $5K a month and your opportunity is a full-time job for $20/hr., it will not help you meet your goal. Instead, it will further ensnare you where you are. If your answer is “yes” move on to Question 3.

Question 3. Is the opportunity in harmony with the laws of the universe, the primary law of more life?

“More life” means more freedom, abundance, prosperity, etc. Would the opportunity bring you more life? If your answer is “yes” move on to Question 4.

Question 4. Would this opportunity violate the rights of others?

Would it take away someone else’s choice? For example, if an opportunity would have you be secretive or deceptive with your spouse, you’re violating his or her right of choice because you’re making decisions that will affect your spouse, but not including him or her in the decision. You’re looking for the answer “no” to Question 4.

If you get three yeses and a no, the opportunity will move you in the right direction and you can feel confident about taking it.

After running each of your opportunities through the four questions, you may end up with one clear winner or you may find that a couple of them will actually work together to help you reach your goal.

In any case, your next step is to seize the opportunity and see it all the way through to its conclusion. I’ll talk to you about that next time.

Trouble finding NEW clients?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions

Hello David!

Hello David! I am a great coach. People tell me all the time that I can really help them dig into what's keeping them from living the life they want. My problem lies in wanting to really grow my business. I have a small practice currently, and am having trouble finding new clients. Other coaches keep telling me that to grow my business, I have to have a specific niche. Is that true?

Thanks for your insight!

Neagle Code Answer

Great question Calvin.

No matter how incredible your services are, you are just not going to be everyone's cup of tea. And if you’re unclear about who your client is, you will end up being all things to all people which isn’t a good strategy for attracting your ideal client.

The clearer you are on what you are looking for the easier it is to actually get it.

The first thing to determine is your target market. What do I mean by determining your target market? If you can identify the problem that you specifically resolve for clients, you will see that your service is really designed for one specific person you can help the most.

If you can define what that person looks like, it becomes increasingly easier to find that individual. Where you find that individual, you will find others that want exactly what you are offering.

Ask yourself:

  • What is my unique selling proposition? Why should a person listen to me? What problem do I specifically solve?
  • Who is my client? Really focus on that demographic by getting clear on who you can help.

When you discover who this person is, the next piece is where are they?

You don’t have to cast a big net if you know exactly where that one fish is that you are looking for.

Hi David.

I've heard your teachings on the importance of surrounding yourself with like-minded people. My challenge is that I can't seem to find any like-minded people where I live. Any suggestions for how I can build a community of support, when I feel like I'm on an island?

Neagle Code Answer

Great question! It is very important to your growth that you surround yourself with people that will support you and encourage you as you continue to grow.

Let me start by saying that geography has little to do with this situation. You can be just as alone in a big city as you can be on an island. Surrounding yourself with people that support you shouldn’t be limited to your current city.

You say that you aren’t able to find these people. I would like you to take a moment and look at what you are currently doing.

  • Are you still going to the same social events you have always gone to?
  • Frequenting the same bars, restaurants, sporting events, gyms, etc…?
  • How much time are you spending with your “old” friends?
  • Do you still shop at the same stores, maybe even still use coupons?

If you are still hanging out in the same old places with the same old people, you will not be able to see new people.

Let go of those old habits and create new experiences in your life. Begin to treat yourself differently by up leveling your experiences. Go to new restaurants, shop at new stores, join a different gym and most importantly – talk to people you meet in these places.

Another great place to meet these people is to go to seminars and conferences where other people who share your same interests gather.

Remember that if you have the desire to meet like-minded people, they already exist and you simply have to be visible.
