The heart surgeon’s approach to making a difference (try it!)

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions

comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David,

My question deals with finding customers who can pay what I charge. I've heard you say that we must ask the ‘right people' (e.g. a homeless person has very limited ability to pay); but I've also heard you say that we shouldn't decide for our prospective clients what they can or can't afford. How do we then strike the right balance between asking the right people while at the same time not assuming what someone can or can't afford to pay?

Neagle Code Answer
Hi and thanks for your question.

I think to answer this question, we have to look at what ‘the right people’ means.

When I teach about asking the right people, I mean the people who are your target market, and who want to make a change and have demonstrated their willingness change.

When I teach about not assuming what someone can and cannot afford, I mean that you don’t price your packages or choose your offerings based upon your own assumptions of what they can afford or may be willing to pay.

You should always recommend the fastest most effective way for them to reach their goals.

Let me explain.

I have had many clients fall in to the trap of offering someone a package based on what they think the prospect can afford, rather than on that prospect’s goals and aspirations. This actually takes away the right to choose from the prospect.

If you’ve fallen into this trap, please realize that this is not in service to your prospect and actually comes from a need within yourself to “get” from the client rather than to help them.

Always remember, if a prospect’s desire for change is strong enough, the money to pay for the change must also be present. You may have to help them find the money for the investment, but it HAS to be there.

If you went to a heart surgeon and he determined that you needed heart surgery, he would not assess whether he thought you could afford the procedure or not. He would tell you what you needed to stay alive, and then it would be your responsibility to follow his recommendation.

This is the same viewpoint you need to take with all of your sales conversations. Your job is to help them assess what they need and then recommend the fastest most effective way to get them there regardless of what you “think” they can pay.

Can I charge more than my competition?

Hi David,

How do you charge your clients more money? I feel like if I increase my prices, I will lose clients due to competition.

Neagle Code Answer
Hi and thanks for your question.

The key to increasing your prices is to make the decision, and then ensure that you give more in value than what you charge.

It’s that simple.

I’m not sure what line of business you are in, but I’m going to use a service-based business as an example here.

Let’s take a look at restaurants. There millions of restaurants out there, and if you look at the really successful ones, you can learn a lot.

Successful businesses all have one thing in common.

They all have a unique selling proposition.

Your unique selling proposition sets you apart from the crowd.

It’s what makes you unique, and if you are unique, you won’t have to be concerned with competition.

Let’s go back to the successful restaurant.

A unique selling proposition for a restaurant may be that they specialize in one particular type of food, maybe they only use farm to table ingredients, maybe they have live piano music playing during dinner or maybe you can throw peanut shells on the floor.

Whatever it is, it is designed to SET THEM APART FROM THE CROWD.

To find your unique selling proposition, think about what makes YOU unique.

What services do you offer that make what you do extraordinary?

Once you can identify your unique selling proposition, you won’t have to be concerned with competition, and you can no longer use it as an excuse to charge less than what you are truly worth.

[Fast Cash Formula Series] Article #3 ~ The Magic Box at Your Command

Whenever we have money problems, we tend to worry, struggle, tighten the purse strings and engage in other types of lack-inspired thinking and behaviors that actually push money away.

Not only does a mindset of lack push money away, but it also blocks ideas that would bring money in. It’s as though you have a little man in your head with a flyswatter, flicking away those pesky, expansive ideas from the Universe that don’t match what he believes.

Now imagine that you have a little magic box in your home that produces whatever you want, whenever you want it. Imagine how that would change how you think and feel.

Fear, worry and insecurity would fade, because you’d know that you could go to your magic box whenever you wanted something.

Your Magic Box

The truth is you have such a box. You can have any amount of money you want, whenever you want it.

The Law of Polarity states that if you have a need or a desire, the way to fulfill that desire has to exist in your life as well. You just have to reach out and grab it.

The money that you want, the thing you desire, is as close as your own breath. It doesn’t require great amounts of learning or strategy.

Let’s say you earn $100,000 a year, and you want to earn $10 million.

To earn that $10 million, you will definitely need a different way of making money than you have now, but the first step to that new way is in your life right now. And it may not take as long as you think to reach $10 million.

It will require a mental shift. You will have to put your faith in the Law of Polarity, and send the man with the flyswatter packing.

Then, brilliant money-making ideas will actually get through to you. You’ll take action on them and give yourself a new experience. Let’s be modest and say you double your income. Your subconscious won’t be able to deny that you doubled your income, and it will form a new belief that you can do that.

Armed with this new belief, you can ascend even faster, tripling, quintupling or increasing your income even more. My clients and students make massive leaps all the time.

That can begin for you today with your faith that life can be better, that the Law of Polarity is true.

So imagine that magic box in your home, apply what you learn in this series, and just watch what you can do!

How can I monetize my email list?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from MaryAnne.

Neagle Code Question
Hi David,

How do I convert more people on my list into paying clients? I have a nice sized list, but I'm struggling to pay my bills!

Thank you so much!

Neagle Code Answer
Hi MaryAnne and thanks for your question!

Depending on how many subscribers you have, a fantastic strategy to monetize your list is to create a teleseminar.

Let me explain.

Part of the challenge of monetizing your list is not having phone numbers.

If you don't have phone numbers, you can't personally reach out to someone to see if they need your help.

The following teleseminar strategy is designed to get people on your list to raise their hand so you can see who wants help.

Create a 3-part teaching teleseminar and make sure you're providing really rich content that is in complete service to your subscribers.

You may want to choose a specific problem that you're noticing is plaguing your market.

Go deep in your teaching about the “what” and the “why” of this problem.

And then as you are wrapping the call, let the listeners know that you are opening some spots in your calendar to talk to them about how this topic directly relates to them in their individual situations.

Let them know that you are only opening up a “few” spots (we recommend 5-10) for the first people to send you an email indicating they would like to have a session with you.

When you receive their email, send them a brief questionnaire so you can be prepared for their session.

If during the session it becomes clear that they need your help, and you can help them, offer them the service that fits their goals.

Rinse and repeat!

How you can JV with lists much bigger than yours!

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions

Neagle Code Question

Hi David,

I really want to start joint venturing with other successful entrepreneurs. But, my list is pretty small, so I don't know how to approach a business owner with a much bigger list. What do you recommend?

Thanks!

Neagle Code Answer
Hi and thanks for your question.

This is a much larger discussion than I can answer here, but I'm happy to share with you just a couple dos and don'ts.

First, you want to make sure that you've done your research. Before contacting a potential partner, learn everything you can about what they are working on and what message they are interested in expanding in the world right now.

Approach your desired potential partner with the intention of learning how you can best help them to expand their message, and then formulate a plan to do so. (One example would be to host them on an interview teleconference that you'll promote to your list & on social media.)

Once you're in contact with the partner, offer to do all the heavy lifting, including:

  • Setting up the conference line
  • Writing all applicable copy
  • Sending reminders of dial-in details
  • Writing the interview questions (to be submitted in advance for their approval)

DO NOT ask for an affiliate commission on this first interview. You're doing this to help the larger list expand their message, and you'll benefit from new opt-ins to your own list.

Once you have a minimum of 150 registered attendees for your upcoming interview (and preferably closer to 500), and once you are about 10 days out from the call date, your next step is to ask your interviewee to let their OWN list know that you are interviewing them LIVE.

Don't be disappointed if they decline to make the announcement.

Always remember that one good deed creates another, and in helping your JV partner maximize their message, the Universe will find a way to help you maximize yours.

[Fast Cash Formula Series] Article #2 ~ How to Create Your Prosperous Life

I told you in my last article that my goal with this series is for you to experience true financial freedom, which means that you can create any amount of money whenever you want it.

Making money is not difficult once you absorb certain concepts and put them into practice. Central among these is that money is an effect.

Money is an Effect

Money follows the Law of Cause and Effect, which states that every action has a reaction. Every cause has an effect, and every effect has a cause.

Money (or the lack of it) in your life is an effect that you cause to happen. It's a direct result of what you're doing or not doing.

A lack of money isn't caused by the economy or your insufficient education or the class in which you were raised.

Those are all excuses we tell ourselves so that we don't have to take actions that might expose us, make us look foolish or upset someone's idea of who we should be.

They're excuses that keep us broke and not living our purpose.

YOU are the Cause

The good news is that once you know that you are the cause of the money in your life, you can feel your tremendous power to bring in as much of it as you choose.

If you want money for something, you'll generate it. You'll make that sales call without worrying about whether it's bothering someone. You'll raise your rates. You'll go out on your own or tell your spouse what you really want.

You'll be like the 18-year-old boyfriend of my oldest daughter. I shared the concepts in this series with him, and he immediately applied them and started to create a million-dollar business.

Was he a smart kid? Yes, but no smarter than any other kid out there. He had a good work ethic, and he did what I told him to do.

Apply This!

That's the key. You have to apply what I'm telling you. You can't just read this and think, That sounds good.

You have to take back your power and embrace that you are the only cause of the money in your life, and then take the risk. Do the things that bring in money. Command what you're worth.

Once you apply this and experience the result, you will forever change any subconscious belief that says you can't have what you want.

Instead, you will know that you can.

And then you'll be amazed at the prosperous life you create!

How hard is your business?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions

comes from Michael.

Neagle Code Question

Hi David,

I've heard you teach that building a business doesn't need to be hard, but with all the chaos around me, the sales objections, and difficulties in hiring a team, it sure DOES feel hard. David, please help me find peace in this craziness!

Thank you!

Neagle Code Answer

Hi and thanks for the question.

Here is the truth:

Peace is a choice.

I think it's very safe to say that every entrepreneur on the edge of an up-level or big growth opportunity has experienced what you described above.

The interesting thing here is that YOU are actually creating the chaos.

Let me be more specific. Your EGO is creating all the chaos, and it's serving a particular purpose.

All of these events are designed to place fear, worry and doubt in your mind, so that you go back.

But here's the great thing about the chaos. If you're creating it, you can stop it.

The great thing about being human is that you have the gift of choice. You can choose how you respond to these situations, and it's in that choice that you have the power to escalate or de-escalate them.

You can choose not be emotionally attached to the chaos around you and even in the midst of stress, you can remain peaceful.

If you're choosing to make things hard, take a look at your value system. Chances are that value system dictates success must be hard.

Remember, everything just “is”.  It's your reaction and judgment that makes things hard.

Make a decision that it's easy to grow your business, and then when a negative result shows up, see it for what it really is and don't get emotionally tied to it.

Instead ask: “What do I need to see about this situation so that I can make a different choice and experience a different result?”

If you can do that, you'll be well on your way to building a more peaceful business.

Found an extra $35K!

Hi David,

I have listened to all of your videos, webinars and bonus material for the Art of Success 2 promo and Blind Spot Breakthrough and I am blown away. You have allowed me to reveal exactly what is blocking me – with this awareness I found an extra $35,000 in annual income that I was sitting on. But now that I have activated that income I am feeling the pull of my psycho-cybernetic setting – I can't stop myself from breaking down and sabotaging myself! I am so worried and scared that I am going to ruin all the new income I just found – how can I stop it?

Neagle Code Answer
Hi and thanks for your question.

First of all, CONGRATS on the new awareness that helped you find an extra $35,000.00 in income. That's fantastic, and something I enjoy watching my private clients discover for themselves as well.

The key thing to remember is that you CAN stop yourself from breaking down and sabotaging yourself. Immediately stop saying that you can't.

The first step is to become aware of what beliefs are causing the worry.

Ask yourself why you are feeling worried and scared. From that answer, keep asking questions until you feel like you've hit the root issue. This will shine the light on the belief that's allowing fear, worry and doubt to creep in.

Let the worst-case scenario play out.

Once a light is shined on the fear, you can respond to it.

For example, if you discover that your worry is coming from a place of what other people will think of you if you ruin everything, you can now address that fear for what it is.

If you shine the light on it and realize that your fear is coming from a place of wanting love and acceptance from other people, you can bring in the truth to remind yourself that what people think of you has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them.

This awareness helps neutralize the worry, because you can see it for what it is and understand your next area of growth. In the above instance, it would be strengthening your self-esteem so that you stop fearing judgment from others.

Remember, Spirit does not speak to you through fear. If you experience it you know it's from your ego.

[Fast Cash Formula Series] Article #1 ~ Financial Freedom is Within Your Grasp

Over the next few months, I'm going to give you step-by-step ways to bring fast cash into your business and life. Regardless of where you are in your career, the steps and principles can help you move to the next level.

My ultimate goal is that you experience financial freedom.

What Is Financial Freedom?

Financial freedom is not about how much money you have in the bank. It's an awareness of being able to  create whatever amount of money you need whenever you need it. When you're financially free, if you need money to pay the bills, buy a new car, a house, send your kids to college or go on vacation, you know how to generate the money right away.

Financial freedom also means that if you suddenly lost everything, you'd easily be able to go out and build your wealth again.

As I've said before, the great thing about awareness is you never lose it. So, once you become aware of how to be financially free, you will never go back.

You will never again feel compelled to make decisions from a place of fear. For example, you won't save for retirement because you're afraid of being homeless when you're old. Instead, you'll have a wealth account that grows, enabling you to do more, have more and give more. That's a much more empowered place from which to save.

To get to that place, you must change your attitude about money. I'll talk about this more in a future article, but most of us have been indoctrinated to think of money as a necessary evil, to believe that it is suspect at best, when the truth is that money is a miracle.

Money Is a Miracle

By that I mean money is an idea from Spirit to help us evolve as a people.

The idea of money has allowed us to grow beyond the constraints associated with barter. We couldn't have accomplished all that we've accomplished as a society without money. And at our current level of development, it's an absolute necessity.

We're not supposed to worship money but neither are we supposed to vilify it. We're supposed to use it to help us fulfill our purpose ~ it's a tool, simple as that.

We also weren't meant to trade our life for money and, therefore, be enslaved by it. We're supposed to master it, use it to pursue our dreams.

That's what this series is all about ~ showing you how to master money and become financially free.

When you become aware that you can bring in whatever amount of money you choose, you are free, and you can do, be or have anything you want.

Are you a victim of failure?

This week's question from my portal “The Neagle Code: Directions for Life” comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous

Hi David!

My question is short and sweet. How do I turn my failures into success very quickly?

Fantastic question!

The key ingredient in turning a failure into a success is to not see “failure”.

Let me explain.

Failure is a judgment placed on a result.

The problem lies with how we FEEL about failure.

When we fail, we attach meaning to that failure and it triggers our core belief about ourselves. We say things in our mind like, “I'm not smart enough, I'm never going to succeed, I can't believe this isn't working, what's wrong with me?”

And this is how we get pulled into the emotions of our subconscious programming, and we get stuck in failure.

The truth is that failure is nothing more than a result. And the purpose of that result is our own growth.

When we do not get a result that we like, we need to look at that result through the eyes of a learner and ask ourselves questions to help us understand why we did not get the result we wants.

A couple great questions to ask are:

What don't I understand about this?

Why am I choosing to experience this?

How is this result serving me?

Who do I need to be to get a different result?

The most successful people in the world have experienced more failure than success.

The difference is in their ability to not take the failures personally and to respond to them rather than being a victim of them.
